Holocron Heist; Cargo of Doom: Cunning bounty hunter Cad Bane plots to steal a Jedi Holocron in the second-season premiere.

and we will finaly see what has been having Karen Traviss pissing in her Jango Fett panties these past few months

These were both excellent episodes. I like Bane as a villain, but as always it's going to strain credibility to the breaking point that a bad guy with no Force powers is going to escape the Jedi episode after episode. I particularly liked the second episode using AT-TEs for space bombardment and a zero gee firefight.

Yeah I agree that while these were good episodes, the Bane as a super villain is already wearing rather thin. Grievious failed so often in seaon one that Dooku puts him through an extra "test". IMHO they should have used Ventress or even Grevious in some way for these episodes, make them badass again. Make Grevious someone to fear instead of mock.

More tension amongst the good guys. Yularen seems really pissy towards Anakin. I don't recall that from last season.

Plo Koon got a speaking cameo.

The Turbo Tank appeared on Felucia! And was destroyed.

The zero g fight was neat.

Cad Bane can take on any opponent if he has prep time. :p

Hopefully Bane will get killed after 5-10 appearances, or else the Jedi will look like total idiots. They should just introduce a new baddie, have a few encounters with him/her, then kill 'em. After all they ain't in ROTS are they?

Meh, them not being around in Ep. III doesn't really mean a whole lot. After all there's any number of reasons that they might be "off screen". If anything, I figure Cad will be the one that takes out Ashoka-- if Lucas allows her to die that is, then Anakin will take out Cad.

I enjoyed both of them but Cargo of Doom was the strongest of the two. It was excellent with an intense, creative battle and if these were victories for the Republic, they were costly ones.

Bane is an awesome villain.

Add another dark moment to this series, a Jedi is literally tortured to death. Even that shocked me. Although I kept expecting Cad to say "Where is Jack Bauer when you need him?"

Yeah, Yularen was a pissy Imperial admiral tonight.

I just think Yularen is over Anakin's shit. In fact I got that vibe from both episodes: The Council, the officers (Clones aside) are just over "super-jedi" Anakin.

And is it just me, or is Ashoka's character model aged a little bit?

I liked the episodes. Cad Bane is growing on me, didn't like him when he was first introduced last season but he's grown on me. I think we're going to be seeing a whole lot of him since Teletoon has subtitled Season two or promoting it as The Rise of the Bounty Hunters. Ashoka seems the same as she was last season to me. Dave Filoni has said in the behind scenes segments that she will grow and mature this season. Two events are going to happen to accelerate her characters growth and change her and Anakin's relationship apprently.

Good start to the season. It definitely seemed a lot darker and less, how should I say, "fluffy" than parts of the last season, particularly the scene where Bane tortured that Rodian Jedi to death. :( The characterization of some of the characters seem a little different such as Yularen, who seemed more irritated/annoyed at Anakin than I remember him being in the previous season and, especially, Ashoka, who seemed a lot more mature (I was surprised that she instantly knew that the changeling was impersonating Madam Jocasta instead of wondering instead that she might be a traitor). I was a little disappointed that we didn't see a full resolution to the storyline since we know Bane smuggled himself off the Trade Federation Ship and is on the Republic Cruiser now but I guess that will just keep me looking forward to next week!
Other observations: It was neat to see the "librarian" from Episode II, Madam Jocasta(sp?) and we got to see flashes of other Jedi characters introduced from the previous season. I would also say that the writing/dialogue seems to be "sharper" than the previous season. I definitely look forward to more!

I JUST finished watching the end of last season about ten minutes ago - just been holding off for no reason or another, so this Bane guy is all fresh to me. I must admit I was surprised to see him introduced at the end of S1, since I thought he was new for S2. Anyway - the final ep of S1 was really good, with some shocking moments.

I just hope they keep up the mature content for the older viewers since this show is turning out really good!

I liked how an entire Trade Federation frigate's control functions can be transferred to Bane's wrist thingie, which he must've gotten at the same place Leela from Futurama got hers.

I thought the opener was alright, but no more clones... please.
It's like every other show has a bad guy clone himself into a good guy in order to infiltrate the good guy's base. It just makes the main characters look like idiots.

No more clones in The Clone Wars? Riiight, that's gonna happen.

Except you seem to be using the word to mean impostors or disguises, which is something completely different from cloning.

I was surprised at the ending of part 2 -- it was pretty clear that the "Clone trooper" who appeared to kill Bane was actually Bane in trooper armor, but they never actually came out and revealed that. It makes the episode feel incomplete.

Is anyone else bothered that the Republic troops have no problem blowing away droids that have surrendered and offer no resistance?
