I've not watched any of The Clone Wars beyond the awful feature-length production, but my impression was that Droids in the Star Wars universe don't have "souls" or whatever. If that's the case, then who cares if Droids are destroyed?

Biggest complaint: why the HECK doesnt Anakin or Ashoka use the FRICKIN FORCE to catch Bane in his tracks and hold him in place???
Or, I dunno, use the FRICKIN FORCE to pull the Holocron out of Banes hand?
For a series about jedi, they certainly dont THINK like Jedi.

Given how individualized the droids have been made in the series it is a little disturbing. I was actually thinking about that when the trio of droids were cowering in the back and resigned to their fate as Anakin angrily stalked up to them. I mean if all they said was "roger roger" it would be one thing... Actually I'd love to see an episode about droids defecting to the Republic with Confed info but meeting only distrust and hatred.
Good episodes overall ... particularly the second one. But as others have already stated, the premise of Bane always outwitting the Jedi -- particularly by infiltrating the Jedi Temple and later disguising himself as a clone trooper right under Anakin's nose -- is fairly thin. They can't make an entire season's worth of stories out of that idea without making the Jedi look stupid.
Not a bad start, though I nodded off on the second episode. I'm not into Cad Bane though I like the idea of them creating and using different villains. You can't have Dooku, Grevious, or Ventress losing all the time and keep them threatening. At the same time, the danger I fear with Cad Bane is that you can't make the villain all powerful and have him escape every time too. It's going to be a delicate tight rope for the writers to walk on this season.
One thing I hope to see is more dark or gray Jedi, like in the Republic comic books. More people that can stand toe to toe with Anakin, Obi, and Ashoka, without it stretching credulity. Where are guys like Sora Bulq or my fav Quinlan Vos? Perhaps Vos might be too dark for the cartoon series though.

This happened at least once in the season finale(which I just finished watching yesterday)and I actually heard myself say out loud, "Oh, poor droids!"
It did leave me with a "that shouldn't have happened" feeling. I guess it's going to get a lot worse though, if we consider the bartender's attitude towards R2 and 3PO in Mos Eisley in ANH.

Why would one even program droids with a surrender option?
Also, Yoda knew the temple would be violated, probably because he read the script. "Sense, I do..a reason for Anakin and Obi Wan to stick around..."
He knew that, but when Bane and a changling are on site, can't seem to find them.
Finicky thing, the force.. Oh, i can sense you nearby, but... which way did he go? I can use the force to stop a roof from falling on me but... not to grab a holocron out of 0g. I can use the force to run super blur fast, unless im running after a bad guy...

Ashoka, however, instantly realized the deception, at least when it came to the librarian- faster than I thought she would, actually. She probably didn't realize that the bounty hunter was impersonating the other Jedi because she didn't know him as well as the librarian I'm sure.
In regards to the episode, in general, I thought that the Jedi didn't seem as smart/intuitive as we've been led to believe. Anakin and Obi-Wan's pursuit of Bane being the prime example. I was for sure they were going to split up and surprise Bane before he was able to steal the Holocron but, amazingly, they didn't. I know that they had to make it so that Bane could get the Holocron and make his escape but writers should never have to strain credulity simply to advance the plot. As dangerous as Bane is, the Jedi so far are coming across as somewhat incompetent when dealing with him. Hopefully, they will eventually figure out how to deal with him better than what has been shown lately. I could buy Anakin's (eventual) capture in "Hostage Crisis" because Bane had a whole team of merciless bounty hunters working with him but he shouldn't be quite as hard to deal with alone (or mostly alone).
Actually Ahsoka had never met Jocasta before either. She heard the faux Jocasta giving instructions to Cad Bane, which is pretty much a dead giveaway that she was either an impostor or a traitor, and since Jocasta is a Jedi Master, a Padawan like Ahsoka would be unlikely to assume she was a traitor.
Hey, it turns out the "Holocron Heist" episode was written by Paul Dini! Dang, I wish this show would give those credits at the opening instead of in the end titles which are squished to illegibility by the network.
Ahsoka not meeting Jocasta Nu until this episode struck me as strange. Didn't she grow up in the Jedi Temple? Maybe this next episode will give us an indea of what the Jedi do with those that they find and begin to train.
Yeah, I would've thought that, growing up in the Temple, as nearly all Jedi did at that time, she would've already known Jocasta Nu. I'm sure this wasn't her first trip to the Library in any event.
I didn't so much mind the Temple part, even though that was odd... but that ending. Sheesh.
