Star Wars: The Clone Wars S4

As I said, what was in question had, and in a sense still has, to do with who's forking over the money. There was never any question that Star Wars was intended to appeal to kids. My issues solely had/have to do with the parsing of the word "primary".

Well, it's normally the parents who pay for children's entertainment anyway, so it's not entirely an either/or question.

Look, no-one is saying that if something is designed for children to enjoy that adults cannot enjoy it also, or that those adults are somehow childish for doing so.

All I was saying is that Star Wars is designed for children to watch and enjoy. Yes seeing Anakin burning alive is traumatic- as was seeing the remains of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, as was seeing Luke's hand get cutoff, as was seeing the Ewok die. Children don't actually mind a little darkness, a little fear- they are actually often quite fascinated with these things. I hate the idea that because something is dark it is inappropriate for children- better that than fart jokes and wacky frogmen- luckily Star Wars covers all the bases!

That Ewok still bothers me even now. Poor guy....
I don't believe Anakin burning alive was designed for children to watch and enjoy though. Really.

Yes if it's the fear of Vader, a dark masked figure that clearly represents a bad side. I don't see anything wrong with that part for kids.

I think we are confusing "dark" with "violent and disturbing" which is what things like Anakin burning would be classed under.

Well, the scene with Anakin burning was in the PG-13 RoTS, so that one wasn't really geared towards kids.

Children under 13 are allowed to watch PG-13 movies- it's just an advisory to parents that some things might be disturbing to under-13 year olds. The fact that the film came accompanied by a legion of toys sort of tips the hand that maybe some under-13s saw the thing. Anakin burning alive was meant to be disturbing to viewers of any age, but I certainly don't know any 7-year olds who wouldn't lap it up. If anything it's the long winded "romance" scenes that would turn them off the film.

All this debate about what violence is and isn't appropriate for kids and the next episode of CLONE WARS is called "Massacre".

well finally got caught up on clone wars and I gotta say best four parter of the season. now a question if anakin would have killed dooku right there what would have palpatine done? he looked so eager to see annie kill the count during the fight sceene. I wish they would do a clone wars infinities or better yet ROTS infinities.

Maul's return to Clone Wars has been known for quite a while I believe. As soon as they introduced Savage Opress I kind of expected to see him. Sam Witwer is voicing him. Interesting choice.

I wonder why they just didn't use Maul's voice actor from TPM?

Availability? Peter Serafinowicz lives in England, apparently. Witwer may have been easier to get hold of.

And Witwer's done work on TCW before, so maybe they just liked him and worked well with him, so they wanted to bring him back.

I'm very pumped for these next CW dandies. The synopsis sounds very promising.
Fingers crossed for no force planets, mistaken/secret identity or "it was all a dream" bullshit writing! :p

It helped that Maul's image appeared in the very next episode.

Rumor has it that he dissed TPM at some point. Even if true, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I can't imagine James Earl Jones talking crap about any of the SW movies.
