Star Wars: The Clone Wars S4

According to Filoni, they were originally going to use a vibroblade, but Lucas changed it because "there's no way that a non-lightsaber could block a lightsaber". :rommie::scream: Oy vey. ( Recall ROTS much? )

Filoni didn't say anything about TOR.

It seems noteworthy that in the KOTOR games vibroblades blocked lightsabers all the time.

Lucas is getting into the EU.

Please no.

Huh? Star Wars canon has been drawing on the Extended Universe for a long time, for instance incorporating Aayla Secura (from the comics) and Coruscant (from the Timothy Zahn novels) into the prequel films.

Again, huh? Were there things in ROTS that blocked lightsabers? If so, that's very strange, since the OT pretty clearly established that lightsabers could easily cut through anything.

No Lucas said that no bladed weapon could block a lightsaber. The staffs in ROTS are a clear exception being that they aren't bladed weapons.

You are wrong. What he said at a exclusive screening of the Mandalore Plot was that Lucas had them insert the line about the lightsaber to tie in with the video game.

Yes. ( Also, there have been things that could block lightsabers in the EU for years. )

It still doesn't make sense. If you can make a non-bladed staff out of phrik, such that it can block a lightsaber, you can make a bladed weapon out of the same material.

Oh. I was referring to the IGN interview about The Mandalore Plot, where he didn't mention anything about the game.

Never been the biggest fan of this show... but I have to admit this was a pretty cool episode, with some great little action sequences. Unlike the other Jedi, watching Ashoka go nuts and dice people up with her two lightsabers never seems to get old. And of course R2 was a lot of fun as always.

Shame every episode couldn't be this fast and efficient. The 2 and 3-parters always seem to drag things out way longer than they should.

Great episode - solid mix of politics, character development and action. And yet another gorgeous planet. Loved the trees that looked like they were blooming in the snow (???)

Ahsoka seemed happy to see Lux, and very sad to see him go.

The inclusion of the "Don't worry. We'll meet again, I promise," line does suggest that - well - they will meet again. And I'd say the door is open to she and Lux teaming up down the road, which is what they both want, and maybe even to Lux helping to save her from Special Order 66.

They seem to be laying the groundwork for another series that could segue right off this one. Lux's attitude of "a pox on both your houses" suggests that he might be in on the very beginnings of the Rebel Alliance. He could hook up with the remnants of both Republic and Separatist movements and have instant credibility, considering that they were all dupes and he had it right.

One of my major problems with the PT is the way in which the good guys never had a chance to get it right. Lux is the antidote to that - finally, someone with a clue to root for! This is a story I'd like to follow.

Hopefully this is the end of Lux being an idiot. Next time I hope he's not so naive.
How old is he, 15? I think one episode of him being an idiot is realistic, but now he's going to have to grow up fast.

I also hope they remember about young Boba Fett. Is he still stuck in some Jedi prison?

The black-sword thing was pretty awesome, and I'm happy to see violence directed at non-droids. An epic galactic war should not be bloodless and sanitized.

They at least let Ahsoka keep the lightsaber this time, considering that last time ("The Academy") she wasn't allowed to have it after Obi-Wan's antics on Mandalore during season 2.

True dis.
Even the arcs I've enjoyed have seemed to drag just a bit.
Wouldn't mind a few more standalones this season.

Yes, the tone of the episode did suggest back-door pilot for a spin-off, didn't it.

Decent episode, but I had one giant problem with it.

Why is R2D2 with Ahsoka? Anakin loaned her his astromech droid for a diplomatic mission? I enjoyed R2 in the episode, but it made no sense for him to be tagging along with Ahsoka.

Nitpicky? Yeah, but it bugged me.

Ahsoka and R2 were accompanying Padme to the talks. I'd imagine Anakin may have sent R2 along as extra protection for Padme.

I thought friday's episode was awesome. Dark and gritty and combat sceens aginst the death watch were awesome. what kinda blade was the death watch leader using? I know they mention it before but I forgot what it's called.
