Confirmed in these episodes:
Buggles is a better pilot than Kaz!

Thanks for posting the links to the shorts, kitik. I haven't had a chance to watch them yet - although all at once is certainly how I'd prefer it. Star Wars should be longer, not shorter.

Anyone watch them all yet? Are they good?

Well, looks like we were right about the show directly crossing over with the events TFA (and presumably TLJ)

No major surprises here since most of these beats are about where I expected the show to be heading, but I am glad they're going to pick up the pace a little more. I just wish the first half had done more with the racers and a little less with Kaz's random hijinks. I mean we're half way through the season and we've only really been properly introduced to two of them.

Submerging the Colossus is an interesting idea. I'd been going on the assumption that at some point it'd lift off and become a mobile base or sorts.

Wow -- I hadn't expected them to overlap with the movies anywhere near this soon. The trailer makes the second half of the season look like a totally different, much more interesting show than the first half.

Now we're talking. It makes sense to catch up quickly with the movies. Most likely, season 1 ends around the same time or a bit after TFA does. This way, season 2 can start off running parallel story wise to VIII, or better yet a few months after, and then fill in some of the blanks in the run up to IX. It will be really good promotion for season 2 if they're going to give some of the story between VIII and IX.

Also reminder, Kaz is from Hosnian Prime, and I bet his father might be there when the first order blows it up.

That might explain his apparent personality (and hairstyle) change. I'll be glad if they leave behind the dumb, goofy Kaz who acts like a child even though he's a trained fighter pilot.

Anyone else find it ironic yet oddly appropriate that even though they're using the exact same same dialog track, the animated version of Hux seems a lot *less* animated and cartoon-like than the live action one? ;)

Side note: I was about to speculate if they way the cross this over with TFA is have Kaz and co be the ones to fly the reconnaissance flight to Starkiller Base that happened off screen in TFA...then I remembered that the comics already covered that with Snap Wexley...oh well, it would have been a neat idea though.

Surprisingly good trailer.

Now I'm straight up looking forward to Resistance episodes.

The newest episode Bibo, which aired on Sunday, was another great offering. I was grinding my teeth through the first 5 minutes of customary silliness from Neeku. After that, once the sea monster was involved things picked up.

Whoa! That trailer is amazing. Looks like Resistance is Growing the Beard in the second half.

Thanks for adding this to my lexicon!

A small, cuddly blue creature whose name is Bibo? That seems oddly familiar...

After the trailer promised all that big, epic stuff, I was disappointed just to get another typical "goofy antics" episode; plus it was instantly obvious that the sea monster would be the tiny creature's mother. A forgettable episode, except maybe for the plot beats of Synara getting suspicious about Kaz and maybe Tam meeting those psychic kids in Engineering.

Well, if prior Star Wars animated shows have taught me anything, Bibo is going to have a surprise come back and wreck the First Order's day once he's fully-grown.

Yup. Ezra's space whales popped in my head watching this ep.

I felt that, too. I'm thinking the First Order shows up in the season finale to smash the platform and baby bug fish and big momma saves Neeku and his friends.

Kind of surprised there wasn't much love here for last week's episode, Bibo. I felt the goofiness was quickly replaced by awesome when the monster attacked and the squadron launched. This week's episode, Dangerous Business, was super Kaz-heavy and although it propelled the story forward a bit, the goofiness wouldn't stop (the biting fish) and dragged down what I felt could have been a better episode.

Really looking forward to the time this show starts taking itself a bit more seriously, likely when they hit post-TLJ timeline.

Kaz > Neeku
