He asked me about a sarcastic swipe. No sarcasm intended.

So you couldn't let it just go by without adding your two cents in?

We get it, you didn't like it. We don't have to be constantly reminded of it whenever the film gains praise or wins an achievement.

^^ Because I don't think the film deserved a damned thing.
It won for make up. Are you saving that the work done was not worthy of the award based solely on the fact it was in a film you did not like? Cant you seperate the work done by these artists from the film ?

Petty doesn't even begin to describe this.

Actually I get pissed seeing someone drag Pine and Quinto and the other newbies into the TOS forum where they're trying to discuss TOS centric things. So I thought I'd return the favour and tramp my muddy boots into their space. I'm just being fair.

Someone starts a Kirk/Shatner appreciation thread in the TOS forum and some dude keeps trying to interject Pine into the discussion. Now you can see how much we like it.

You're not doing that, though. It also shows that you're just coming in here to troll.

Oh, and for the record, since Star Trek does cover the TOS timeline, and Pine & Quinto are now Kirk & Spock respectively, there's no reason why they can't go in the TOS forum in respect to discussions about Kirk & Spock. You may not like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't so. Pine & Quinto are also Kirk & Spock now. That is the way of it.

And there's no reason I can't come in here to serve up my opinion.

And if that answer ain't good enough for you then how about... :p

Mmmm, are we allowed to discuss the actors who played Young Spock in ST III, and compare and contrast them to Nimoy?

Sandra Smith's portrayal of Kirk in "Turnabout Intruder"?

Billy Simpson's audio contribution to "Yesteryear"?

excuse me I'm a girl not a dude ok Quinto and Pine are Kirk and Spock now if you don't like them then go to the TOS forum you are really not acting in a civilised manner

I can't help but think that if Avatar hadn't come out there would have been more, and Avatar isn't even an original story, plagiarised as it is from Pocohontas, and even Braveheart!

Star Trek didn't even have a story.

Well, not really. The main complaint of those who disliked the film wasn't the quality of the make-up. Disliking the film and being of the opinion that other movies were more deserving of the gong (I can't believe District 9 wasn't nominated) aren't mutually exclusive.

You now have a warning for not dropping it when I said to drop it and for carrying on a squabble here which originated in another forum -- both bad form, and both indicative of your continuing unwillingness to exercise self-restraint. Comments to PM.

Congratulations to all the make-up artists who worked on ST XI. I have "The Making of Star Trek" book and the make-up and costumes were so well done. I am thrilled to see Star Trek finally win an Oscar.
