Spoilers Star Trek: Waypoint Discussion Thread

It occurs to me that an interesting way of doing a Phase II prose project might be to do a short story collection with Blish-style novelizations of the Phase II scripts/treatments. I doubt anything like that would ever come to pass, but if it did I'd certainly put my money down for it.

They'd get my money for a series of "Phase II" novel, for sure.

I would love to see a KRAD-written adaptation of Kitumba, for example.

Just read the last story in the last issue. What a fantastic series this was! I hope they decide to go back to it at some point, I would definitely buy more of these...

I read in an interview from SDCC that they are thinking about doing more, but hadn't come to a final decision yet at that point.

Thought I'd refresh the thread since the trade paperback collection of the series came out a week or two back, and I just finished reading it. I did really enjoy how it took advantage of the idea of an anthology to push the limits of the Trek universe, rather than just being a grab-bag of the five series (even if a few parts, like the casual murdering of Mirror-Kirk and company seemed... weird). A (real) movie-era story would've been nice, and I definitely would be interested in a Waypoint, Vol II.

Cool. I haven't read the original miniseries yet, but I really liked the concept and was hoping it would continue.

I am excited to see the Waypoint Special is coming out next Wednesday! I really loved that mini-series, I hope they keep bringing it back. It's so satisfying.

Yep. I think it's three stories -- DS9 Ezri, TNG Spot, and a multiple Trek story with Q.

Is this the one with the DS9 Ezri story?

"The anthology series spanning 50 years of Star Trek returns in this oversized annual! These weird and wonderful stories – set during the Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and more – expand on rarely explored corners of the universe or provide closure for long-forgotten plot threads. But they all remind us of why we love Trek. This volume features your favorite characters, including Data, Q, and Ezri Dax, handled by the top creators of today and the future!"

Haven't had time to read anything yet, but bought it today and like the looks of things from a quick scan through a few pages. At 5 today the comic book store only had 2 copies left! Hopefully it's selling as well all over so we can get more of this...
