Star Trek: TITAN: Animated Series

this is my interpretation of Doctor Ree and Inyx from the Destiny trilogy
crappy cellphone pic haha

I drew a pic of Torvig but I forgot where I put that notebook

Those are really good. I am so gealous of you guys, I've never been very artistic.

Ree isn't built like that. A lot of people seem to default to the assumption that he's an upright biped, but he's actually built like a raptor dinosaur, with a horizontal, cantilevered body and tail. Basically like this but with more of a Komodo-dragon snout and more dexterous hands (and probably without the big claws on the feet).

yeah I guess it's a result our human anthropomorphic bias :D

I'd be interested to hear David Mack's judgement on how close my Caeliar came to his vision.

I wish I could show you all my Pahkwa-thanh and Caeliar. I amuse myself by drawing every Star Trek race, but I have no idea how to post them.

DN--Do you have a scanner? If so, scan your stuff. Then upload it to TinyPic and use the URL it provides you to post. (If you have your own web domain--one that you own outright--you can use that too. If not, go with TinyPic.)

I just imagine the picture of what looked like a Komodo dragon on one of the book covers (I believe it was Orion's Hounds). The series has made it clear that he is an extremely imposing figure, so for myself imagining him as a bipedal raptor works.

Geoff - how would you feel about uploading these to Memory Beta to serve as representative images for the character bios?

More excellent stuff :bolian:, I just periodically check in to ogle. I'm an art peeping tom. :shifty: :D
Me too. :techman:
If they were to do a new series in between new movies now I wouldn't mind it being animated in this vein. Titan would be cool animated.

These images are public domain. Have a ball.

edit:

that is to say, as long as CBS/PARAMOUNT/VIACOM/whoever doesn't care if I draw them, I don't care if you use them. It's all for fun.

if you don't mind me posting another, here's Torvig as I envision him:

the great thing about books is that everything is in our imagination and it can look however we want it to :D
the different ways we see the characters, for instance

that's pretty awesome, right there.

I've been having the same thought, but I wasn't sure if something like this would be ok.

Interesting, but a little too Borgish. Why have an eyepiece on only one eye? If it's worth enhancing one, why leave the other one deprived? And surely advanced technology should be able to integrate any ocular enhancements into the eyeball itself without being a big chunky piece on the outside. (In other words, I'm not a fan of the Borg's design.)

The art in this thread is great. It inspired me to get my first Titan novel. Keep it coming!
