Star Trek Timelines

That's a balance a lot of freemium games don't know how to achieve.

Tapped Out did it. I've been playing it for years. Level 57! *weeps*
You can do everything in the game without spending a cent. If you want to spend money, you can - and it speeds up the game incredibly, but what's the point? To level up faster?

But if I can only play for a couple of days before advancement (the real drug here) becomes next-to-impossible to accomplish or the only real task if making sausage time and time and time and time again, then you're too greedy and have failed.

The balance between premium and non premium currencies is critical. Also, having ways to earn even a limited amount of the premium currency in-game (without spending real money) is good too. It helps to keep away the notion that the only way to get the high quality material in the game is to drop lots of money on it. Also reinforcing that patience pays off.

Well, I've hit the wall. About halfway through both the Bajoran missions and the 'Distress call' missions and none of my characters are anywhere near strong enough to complete them, I've spent all my free credits on item packs and got a handful of next to useless characters and unless I grind by replaying all my previous missions again I'm pretty much shafted.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Yeah, I gave up during the first arc. It's... just too grindy. There's also no way to select which character you get, at least not that I can see, so it's basically pot luck.

There's also very little involved in the space pew-pews.

You have three traits and from what I can tell - you get to use each once.

Oh! Nurse Ogowa! That's helpful!
Ha, funnily enough she probably would have been helpful for a couple of tasks that require a medical skill, as for a long time the only character I had who had any kind of medical stat was Ezri Dax who had something like 16 medical. I picked up Kes later who had 30-something, which helped but even that's not high enough for some of the later ones.

You can use them more than once, providing the cooldown timer regenerates before the battle's over. Which rarely happened for me.

Deleted it now - the last straw was getting Wesley Crusher as my "Daily reward".

I'm half way through the Bajoran arc and it requires all the stats to be in the 60s. I don't have any medical nor engineering skills that high.

I'm giving it some more time. It's still a new game and I hope they're working out some kinks.

The game is definitely a work in progress, I think they adjusted the drop rates for items you need to advance characters. I've gotten a lot more in the past day than I got during the 2 days previous. Could be simple luck, but given how new the game is, they've gotta be tweaking the formulas.

Near the end of the episode 3. Hit a wall, as I need more diplomacy for the mission. Have done many missions again. At the moment, all but two missions are unlocked for elite in Episode 1. The grind worse than STO. Most of today has been upgrading my crew.

I've been playing Timelines on Andriod, the v1.0.3 makes things much better, especially the fix to make the buttons work when pressing them!

I am currently at level 14, near to level 15 and have just started Episode 4... need to do some replays to advnace my crew.

If you have not figured out how to get your crew above level 10 this is what happens. You can Train your crew and gain XP to level them up then for each 10th level you need all 4 equipement items to Advance your crew member.
Once you hit the advance button you can progress through to another 10 level whilst you collect another 4 equipment items.

So far I have hit level 30 with one of my characters.

Forgot to mention that I am enjoying the game.

One imporement I would make is to have the best person(s) for the job at the top of the crew list for the ground away missions like you have with the faction shuttle missions.

^ I do lots of shuttle missions. Already got allied with the Federation, working on getting more rep with them. Currently level 16, but still just grinding away by doing easy missions, so I can level up other crew that aren't on the shuttles. Getting Janeway over the weekend was awesome, as she is super rare and already at level 20.

I've been on the Disruptor Beam forums and that's a very popular request. Hopefully it'll happen.

I'd like to have some sort of indication when you pick the crew members for a mission, what the odds are of them actually being able to accomplish the tasks.

For example, when I slap Picard in a mission that requires Diplomacy, the gray laurel wreath turns gold. Super! He qualifies.

Then when we actually get to that stage it requires 90 and he only has 65 (or whatever).

And that random bonus generator ain't cutting it.

They redid the daily rewards system, I think the rewards are more valuable. The thing that made me laugh is that they replaced Wesley with Tuvok in the rewards system. I guess people didn't want to shout "Shut up, Wesley!" at their phones.

Oooh. I get to go from a 2 star to a 3 star level Wesley with no noticeable change in abilities.

Me thinks this is just a money grab.
