Damn.... I just downloaded the soundtrack, organized it by occurance in the episode and prepared to listen to it driving to work tomorrow morning.
We've heard Klingon opera a few times before thoughIt would be kind of hilarious if it turns out that Klingon opera is actually just boy band/K-Pop. Watch DS9 now and think about that every time Worf waxes nostalgic for Klingon opera!!!
Haven't seen 2001, the Blue Danube spaceplane & station waltz? That's what it reminded me of.And speaking of ridiculous dance numbers... the Enterprise and the 2 Klingon ships apparently dancing. STARSHIPS DANCING IN SPACE?! WTF was I watching.
Happened in S1E2, their hit single "Ba ba ba bammm"I really want an Uhura/Spock duet in a future episode. I feel like their voices would sound great together (reminiscent of Tara and Giles in Buffy) plus there’s precedent in TOS so it wouldn’t be contrived.

Time stamp? I’m too lazy to search.
Yes, it is clear that shutting him off bothered him and bothered him a lot, but what is it she's sung right before Spock walks out of the lounge? It's what I said, that she's willing and ready to break up, if it is necessary. And I just said it was all too much for him to deal with, not what was the one thing that broke his heart. That said, the play on words with "ex" and "X" implies that breaking up is one of the major things bothering him; that's textual.I dunno man. I don't think it's the fact that she was willing to break up with him to pursue the fellowship that broke his heart. I think it was the fact that she didn't trust him enough to come to him with the news first, and that she immediately jumped to assuming he was going to ask her to stay when all he asked was why she didn't talk to him before literally everyone else.
[ puts away her stack of $100 bills ]Not into the musical theater episodes. Hated the Buffy one, and this wasn't much better. You could not pay me to suffer through a musical of any kind.

That's a shame. Not into the musical theater episodes. Hated the Buffy one, and this wasn't much better. You could not pay me to suffer through a musical of any kind.

[ takes out her stack of wheat pennies ]Hold up.
[ begins to awkwardly jig ]
The mix on the soundtrack is much better than in the episode. I think you'll like it.Damn.... I just downloaded the soundtrack, organized it by occurance in the episode and prepared to listen to it driving to work tomorrow morning.
I agree completely with the first part, I never said otherwise. As for the second, I'd agree that's among the things bothering him, for sure.Sure, but I don't think Spock views the act of taking the fellowship as being what marked her dumping him. I think in his mind it is the lack of trust and automatic assumption that he wouldn't support her decision to take the fellowship that marked the end of their relationship.
I've always liked musicals. Maybe from being taken to all those live action and animated Disney and Disney wannabe films as a kid in the 60's. All the musical classics and some not so classic films were heavily reran on TV, too. Stuff with Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, well the list goes on. Later more modern films first run. Grease, Rocky Horror, Hair, Tommy, Blues Brothers...I don’t care much for musicals outside of Grease but as a one off episode of a series they’re very enjoyable.
100%.Oh, just one more thing.
The octave dip in "I'm the X" is utterly badass.
