Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I think it’s funny they found more of that version of the E-F.

It's so weird how much constant drip of stock they have of some stuff like the various Fs, or the Spacedock which at one point was 100% sold, but how little they have of other stuff.

(In other words, where's my D5 Tanker, it's the last thing I need, I want to be finished).

Been thinking about it. Just off the top of my head, I think the only ship I’ve never seen them put up for sale is the regular sized TNG/DS9 era Romulan Warbird. They have a ton of the XLs but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the regular one.

maybe there is another one or two but I can’t think of any that MR has never had beyond that.

Not sure what was going on this week. I thought we were supposed to get the Krill ship and the new Union shuttle from Orville's season 3, but no shuttle and the Krill ship is just a pre-order for January.

No magazines, either.

Me:
If it were a regular small model I wouldn't care, but I think this is not detailed enough for a Discovery-/special-sized model.

Also me:

Also also me: Orders the Toussaint as well.

(It seems the Varian Fry traveled through time - on the website it still shows as unfulfilled, and I never received tracking information.)

I wonder how they are gonna handle holiday orders. Knowing what we know about how they ship at a snails pace, I would think even if you ordered today it wouldn’t make it in time for Christmas.

Makes me wonder if they are going to add some kind of express shipping option.

Still haven’t received the Cerritos and Nog I ordered over three months ago. Reached out to customer service twice and both times they told me they were waiting for replacement parts for the Nog and that the models will ship soon. I know sourcing this stuff can take a while, but damn, three months is a long time. Please someone here assure me this is not some sort of scam and they do indeed ship out the stuff people buy. :(

Everything I've ordered from them was delivered. One order took about a month to fulfill. It was much the same way with Eaglemoss itself.

Replacement parts for the Nog sounds unusual. Those detached nacelles, I swear...

I hope it all arrives for you soon. And if not, I hope you receive a full refund and free gift as apology.

As we reach the tail end of Eaglemoss stock some of the orders are taking a LONG time to fulfil. I've just had a shipping confirmation today for an order placed seven weeks ago. But I've placed a lot of orders with Master Replicas since they got the Eaglemoss distribution rights and everything I've ordered has arrived. Some of it has been late, but I've always had a response from their customer service team when I've reached out.

Same boat here. They are usually reliable in terms of getting stuff out to you, or issuing a refund if you cant wait anymore.

Happened with an order for colonial one and NX-01 refit - the NX-01 refit was damaged and they were waiting for replacements. I waited a few months and asked them to cancel and I added it during another drop.

For my October orders, ordered a Maui, Varian Fry, and other items. All items shipped except the Varian Fry, which remains unfulfilled. Heres hoping that one gets shipped out soon!

Yeah, I emailed yesterday about an order I placed on 11/1. I’m kinda worried it could get buried under Black Friday/holiday orders and they told me the FAQ on the website says to expect 14 days for processing. So I guess…any day now?

Had a wonderfully pleasant surprise that my shipment from Real Merch arrived a day early, and, unlike the last few Master Replica orders, this one went straight to my place. I didn't have to walk over to the post office, nor was I charged an extra fee to take possession of it.

Getting 2 specials for the price of one (plus also the 22nd Ferengi ship free) was a good deal. I now have all three of the Son'a ships, and all the ships from Insurrection, except for the Captain's Yacht.

The Son'a battleship is almost entirely metal, so it's got a surpring bit of heft to it. The Son'a collector, on the other hand, is almost entirely plastic, and rests on its stand, rather than being clipped into place. But at least the stand is curved, unlike those terrible flat stands for the shuttle sets.

I definitely prefer dealing with Real Merch whenever possible. The fulfuillment part of the order is quicker and cheaper.

You could've been made to pay for it? Customs?

Unfortunately, yes, with almost every single MR order, but I don't think ever with a RM order.

So what have the Black Friday deals been announced, if any? Unless they're offering a D5 tanker or a standard-sized Orville, I'll probably sit it out.

Anyone take advantage of the buy 3 get 2 deal yesterday?

that kind of deal signals to me they are plenty motivated…almost desperate to move stock.

No. I’m pretty much done. All I’m missing is the Klingon tanker (which sold out instantly months ago, never to be seen again) and Contesoga (never to be seen at all) — at this point I don’t really expect to see either.

RealMerch also has a 25% off everything, so probably in a similar boat as MR. It’s pretty apparent that trying to offer a model of every Star Trek ship isn’t a viable business model unless you make people buy them as part of a subscription.

I already have most ships, and some multiples of. Even now, after I started modding them, there’s only so much incentive to get more.
I’ll decide tomorrow if I take up the deals.

I've thought about trying my own mods for some of them but I'm so cack-handed I think it'd just be a long-winded way of just throwing some models away...

You could start easy - add decals to Earth ships that don’t have any. If you don’t like the result, you can peel them off again.
