So I got a promotional email from Eaglemoss with a subject heading of, "Pre-Order your 1:6 Scale Enterprise Today"

My head almost exploded, until I realized, "Oh, yeah - April 1st".

The model is pretty good. Some of the joining seams are pretty obvious but I’m happy overall. The “J” seems to be missing on the registry. I don’t know if that is intentional or not.

It is intentional. It was missing on Drexler's original CGI model and Robinson decided to leave it be.

For comparison, in STO, the registry is placed on either side of the saucer's top, and includes the 'J'.

Is the E-J now the biggest of the XLs? It looks huge.

It's certainly one of the biggest in-universe ships. The Fesarius and Voth City Ship are probably the only ones bigger. There may be others, but not many.

The J is 2 miles long and wide making it 338% larger than the Enterprise E. It may look thin but it’s still 30 decks thick.
The ship is a monster.

I use Gorilla because it’s the strongest out there, despite not holding 100%.

Alternatively, you could the in-house brand from Revell, which is dedicated to glueing plastic.

So what are the biggest differences between the regular & XL variant of the Enterprise-J?

Doesn’t feel as flimsy as the regular. Plus strangely enough, the registry is smaller on the bigger model than on the regular. Puts the scale of the ship into a better perspective.

Makes sense. Probably would have been illegible if it were to correct scale on the mini.

It's a different mold from the original, smaller model.
The yellow "yoke" in the center of the dorsal saucer has a bulge.
And the bussard collectors are not plain red but have orange swirls painted on. The nacelles benefit the most from the greater size - still fragile, but the casing, warp plasma tube and bussards are better delineated.

If you dropped this off in a universe where Star Trek doesn't exist, that model would make for a nice Modern Art sculpture.

I like what I'm seeing with the 180 cube so far. Looks to be quite accurate. However, since it's supposed to be based on the STFC cube, the one thing they haven't shown (at least, so far as I've seen) is the unique circular jettison hatch for the Queen's sphere that this one should have. I hope we get to see that at some point.

The Archer bust looks pretty nice. The rest looks kinda meh to me.

Eaves' nacelles are always so ugly and generic.
