Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

they may have just lost the extra set of engines, which would be “close enough” for a general audience who really wouldn’t remember the details of a 1701-A glimpsed in the last five minutes of Beyond.

Although, I suppose a four-engine version would make it easier for audiences to keep track of an alternate timeline version.

It’s still a sin that we haven’t gotten a KEL Enterprise-A. If it was redesigned for another movie, they could’ve just sold that as separate model. Like the Star Trek ship and its Beyond refit.

The Pathfinder-class USS Drexler (issue 18) has been delivered. Beautiful model. I wonder if we could convince Fanhome to release an XL-sized Voyager-B through an email signup, like it was done with Eaglemoss for the Titan, Aventine and Enterprise-F by the late 8of5 Website?

“Dear Star Trek Fan,

We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding your Star Trek Starships Collection from Fanhome.

As part of our ongoing commitment to quality and accuracy, the replacement model for the USS Excelsior will now be included in next month’s dispatch. This means you will receive the corrected version automatically as part of your upcoming shipment – no action is required on your part.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we ensure every detail of your collection meets the highest Starfleet standards.

Thank you for your continued support.

The Fanhome Crew“

Edit: emphasis by me. With two Excelsior II class models, I’ll ask Bobmat for customs so I can rename one as is proper: USS Excelsior NCC-2000-A.

Hopefully that means it will be available for individual purchase soon as well. Aside from the Aledo and maybe Drexler, it’s the only ship they’ve announced that I have any interest in. Especially with Voyager A, Protostar and Athena being XLs.

I bought an Excelsior II on Ebay several weeks ago, and was surprised to find that it was already the corrected version.

In other starship-related news: Master Replicas have announced two new starship library ships (Enterprise D and Enterprise E, once again these seem to be the same as the Eaglemoss ones) and a book about the rebuilding of the Enterprise D bridge for PIC.

Ben Robinson confirmed in a Facebook post that the Master Replicas TOS Enterprise, Voyager, Enterprise-D, and Enterprise-E are reissues of the Eaglemoss models. It is like how the Fanhome XL re-releases are identical to the Eaglemoss XL versions.

Got a note from MR. They are going to be doing a 50% off sale on 5/1 and 5/2. Not good on preorders or early access products.

Hopefully they put some of the library collection stuff on there.

all the non-presale Library Collection ships are 50% off except for Discovery.

Went ahead and picked up the Discoprise. Considered the Cerritos as the smaller size would help me open up some shelf space but ended up passing.

ugh, most of the in stock shit I’ve been waiting on for months because there was a preordered item that’s taking forever is now half off which pisses me off

I pulled the trigger on a few master replica items

Defiant MSD
Voyager Dedication plaque
Defiant Dedication plaque
DS9 replication mug
Ent D OPS computer mat

Almost got the Enterprise E MSD, but it's a turbolift map, so I went with the Defiant.

Voyagers MSD looks awesome, but pre orders sold out at full price.

Does anyone here have the Starship Library Cerritos? Curious if the book has any extra behind the scenes info compared to the eaglemoss xl magazine.

If I have one complaint about the Discoprise model it’s that they used a dark grey for the USS Enterprise and NCC-1701 lettering. It really blends in too much with the color of the ship. Especially on the bottom of the saucer where the two NCC-1701’s are printed directly on a gridline.

Otherwise it’s a great model. So strange to see how much wider it is than the Classic 1701 and refit.
