Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I can see the appeal of having a to-scale Enterprise set. Eaglemoss has before tested the water with Enterprise-focused sets - the three/four packs, the mirror Enterprises, the XL series, and now a Gold series in the making - so it's not totally unreasonable for a scale set. It comes to Eaglemoss deeming it financially viable.

Personally, I don't see it happening. If they re-release just the B and C at a new size, people unaware of the scale will wonder why two ships get randomly re-released at a different size when something like the USS Aventine and Enterprise-F would "need" it more. The Eaglemoss collection is special because if gives us existing hero ships in new quality, and all-new ships never committed to physical reality before. It's a niche. I feel like the scaling issue has already been covered by AMT/Ertl with their scale sets - that's a different niche. -- But I'm not resisting. Power to your dreams!

The one thing that makes it financially viable for them is that they already have all the meshes and don't need to do any additional research, for the most part. Just upscale (or downscale, as needed) the print masters and they have it.

Personally, I hope they don't do it - at least not until they've worked out the horrid accuracy issues with the refit. They would also do well to adjust the asymmetrical shuttle bays (from their current symmetrical configuration) on the E-D and the many inaccuracies of the E-C (I think there was a big problem with an impulse engine - possibly missing entirely - can't remember, amongst other things).

Personally, I hope they release the Nemesis version of the E-E before they do a new Enterprise set. At least it would be somewhat different.

Just to clarify some confusion about the S31 ships from DSC. :cardie:

1. We already got the NCIA-93 > Issue 22, Stealth ship
2. We got the stealth drone > Issue 25, Section 31 drone

Upcoming:
3. large starship, 4 nacelles > Issue 28, Section 31 Nimrod-class
4. evil Miranda > Isue 30, "Section 31 Medium Ship (2 Nacelle Variant)"

5. That leaves one: medium ship, 2 nacelles (with rollbar)
Seen in the background of this image (evil Miranda at the front):
Yes. I have no idea why M-A was using the Eaglemoss model, but I changed it to this:

Edit: Huh there is a 4th S31 variant in the back there, the 4 nacelled ship, but with a roll bar.

Did I get that right? I remember when the DSC S2 finale came out there were talks about 4 types at the battle, or basically 2 classes with 2-nacelle and 4-nacelle variants each.

and the many inaccuracies of the E-C (I think there was a big problem with an impulse engine - possibly missing entirely - can't remember, amongst other things).

The missing impulse engine was added for the XL version, but the shapes of the saucer, engineering hull, and nacelles are still completely wrong. They should build an entirely new mesh of the Enterprise C (or maybe the Zhukov / Yamaguchi refit), based on better reference images. But since they didn't do that for the expensive XL model, I doubt that it'll happen now.

I hope they release the Nemesis version of the E-E before they do a new Enterprise set. At least it would be somewhat different.

I agree!

Anybody in the US running into delays again ? My last Discovery sub was sent on 4/15 & Regular sun on 5/1.

The last DSC shipment I received was in April I believe, and it was the D7. I didn't receive any deliveries for May and I assume its due to COVID.

There did seem to be a lull in shipping and, yes, it's most likely due to local COVID-19 outages, but things are getting back into gear. I've recently been getting my regular line ships, the next Battlestar ship (Blackbird) is on its way, and I'm finally receiving my months-long back issues of the DeLorean build. However, I think we're going to start seeing a much longer-duration lull in deliveries once their factory supply of models runs out. I'm not sure manufacturing and shipping from China has recovered yet, and we're just seeing what's currently already here in the 'States. I base this assertion on this email I received last month from Eaglemoss. I assume this impending outage will hit every country that has an Eaglemoss distribution factory. No idea when it will happen, though.

Last ship received by my retailer was Kes’s shuttle in early March. And there was a gap of several ships before that which never were sent. A couple weeks after that I got a direct shipment of the cardassian weapon platform, friendship one, and the Reliant prototype.

I don’t know if they’re shipping anything through Diamond anymore, but the ships are still showing up in the Previews magazine.

In the UK subs, Brodie Nicholas received the Sheliak colony ship and the Tarellian plague ships today.
Images of both in the Facebook group, for those that have access: https://www.facebook.com/groups/eaglemossstartrekfangroup/permalink/2651252235198103/

I'm looking forward to get mine. Gonna call the Sheliak one affectionately, Die Boote.

Edit: Nimrod-class and the Valkyrie BS-41 are being delivered, too. Ba'ul fighter is on UK waiting list.

I ordered a couple of ships on Tuesday evening on the main Eaglemoss UK shop (Voyager Concept and third Excelsior Concept) and used the Parcel Motel service. They were dropped off at the Northern Irish distribution centre Parcel Motel uses and got delivered to my designated pick-up point last night and I've just picked them up myself.

Even paying extra for delivery twice (DPD next day and Parcel Motel) and not using any discount codes, I still managed to pay less in Euros with a Stirling conversion than paying in Euros in the EU shop they have.

Well, dang it, I was really looking forward to getting the Zimmerman tug (#27) from the Disco line and they seemed to have skipped over it and sent me the S31 Nimrod class (#28). :(

Trust me, it isn’t that great. It’s also quite a small model.

I can't say I agree. While not the largest model of the collection, it's still reasonably large, its saucer being roughly the same size as its parent ship U.S.S. Clarke. And even then, I'd argue that it's one of the most detailed model of the Discovery collection thus far. The paint job is pretty sweet and the level of detail in even the obscured places below the saucer inbetween the nacelle struts is rather astonishing.

I also think it photographs rather well … :)

According to analysis in the Facebook fan group, the Section 31 HQ model may be larger than Earth Spacedock, perhaps as tall as the Sarcophagus is long.

Never got the bloody Spacedock. I preordered it months before it came out And it still sold out. They never told me of course. I had to contact them
