Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

It was always very dim, probably due to the kind of paint they used to make it look normal under regular lighting. Interesting effect, though.

I wonder if we might see a larger version of the Enterprise-E Captain's Yacht and an improved Stargazer model in the Picard collection (or even in the XL line), since they've appeared in PIC now?

Ok, 4 months between DSC premiere and USS Shenzhou release. How long before the first Picard ships are announced? Seems to me we should already be hearing rumbles, even if we haven’t seen the first “hero ship” yet, we’ve seen several, in the Evac fleet and the Synth attack ships.

Ben addressed that on Twitter the other day. He said the Picard assets were only just now approved & it would be a year before we see them.

Do you think the shuttlecraft in the background are Argo shuttles, re-used models from the Kelvin movies, John Eaves' McCall type shuttles from the 2011 Ships of the Line calendar, or something entirely new?

After the first episode I wouldn't mind taking a closer look as those new sleek Romulan Bird-of-Preys. Can't say any other ship design stood out to me.

As I mentioned before, they are clearly from the first Kelvin movie. That’s probably why they are so small and not in the foreground. If they were new, one would expect that they would have been used for all other shots of shuttles in STP, rather than using the DSC shuttles.

Probably something new, but most of Eaves’ shuttle designs look similar.

The rear engine placement reminds me of the McCall, but the forward window design isn’t the same.

It’s not clear at all.

Folks...

While technically very minor so far, I want to caution against straying into discussion of STP.

You can discuss the ships and so forth all you like in the Picard Forum, okay?

Thanks

stopped into midtown comics in NYC last week and grabbed an orion interceptor:

good place to find new ships, XLs and discovery. loving this little model, been a while since i've bought a standard size.

spoke with eaglemoss today to skip some disco issues and found out the D7 is shipping the 31st in the US. you can currently skip up to issue 28 (the 4-nacelled section 31 ship), so fyi if you've got your US sub to ship more than one model at a time and you want to opt out of a few.
