Huh! That second delay must have been their correction of adding the ship's name to the hull. That means if anyone actually managed to get their hands on the original without the name, they have an instant money-making "error" collector's item.
thank you, that worked with the XL akira. Not sure if this applies everywhere, but there's a new 15% off promo code: st05extm
Just successfully ordered the Altair and new Shuttle set with it. Even though they're both considered "pre-order" items, it still allows it, and most codes I've found do not (for pre-orders).
shuttles set 5 came today:

i was expecting to keep the galileo and tug and sell the rest on eBay, but seeing them in person, i'm keeping the galileo and voyager shuttle and selling the tug and air tram. the galileo has a surprise bit of transparent blue plastic in the back for the impulse engines(?) and the air tram has surprise transparent blue plastic on its underside engines.
honestly, i ended up selling the type 9, air tram, and tug for $30-$40 apiece. it’s exorbitant, but that’s what individual shuttles go for on eBay.How much are you selling the tug and tram for? I'm also looking for the TUC executive, TNG type 7, VOY type 9, and INS type 11![]()
Thanks for the link.pst said:it was announced at STLV this year, trekcore wrote about it here.
Ar'kif.
Aside from the recent temporal bundle sto hasn't thrown any new Romulan ships since the miracle worker bundle, the older ships from the Legacy of Romulas expansion were great and are a worthy addition to anyone's collection.matthunter said:The new Rommie ships in STO have been fugly pretty much, but I love the Ar'kif.
Not to hijack the thread but I've dabbled with 3d printing myself, I've found that to aid in printing (reducing support structures etc.) you might want to cut the model into more manageable pieces then orient the model upright on the printbed, as opposed to laying the model flat.matthunter said:I got hold of an STL file for my 3D printer but it needs too many supports to print well (the support beams break off pretty easily but leave a pockmark effect if too dense - I printed the refit NX-01 a while back and it looks great from the top and sides but underside of the saucer is a mess).
you're lucky that's all yours does. my edison always slipped out of its stand (which is extra tall compared to other stands in the collection). this was causing it to just randomly fall onto my desk and create a knick in the wood. finally said fuck it and threw it in the closet. So I got my DSC Edison, and the clear stand seems to be slightly curved, resulting in the ship being a bit cockeyed. Anybody got any tips for straightening it out? Maybe how to warm it so it will flex but not melt or snap?
i never caught the giger influences. always kind of considered the son'a ships to be pure john eaves. his work is clearly far less collaborative in star trek: insurrection and star trek nemesis than in the other projects he worked on. have a soft spot from being a kid and pouring over the making of star trek: insurrection and loving all the orthographic views of the son'a ships. and personally, i think star trek: insurrection is underrated. They did a nice job re-creating the Son'a ship basically from the ground-up. I didn't much like Insurrection at all, but the Son'a ship designs were quite original (at least as far as Trek adversaries go). I have a soft spot for Giger-esque bio-mechanical designs and that one in particular reminds me of the derelict (later-turned Engineer's canister transport) from Alien.![]()
Maybe apply a low amount of heat with a heat gun then bend and keep it in place with a couple of small hand clamps?Doom Shepherd said:So I got my DSC Edison, and the clear stand seems to be slightly curved, resulting in the ship being a bit cockeyed. The Reliant is beautiful. One of the best, IMO, if not THE best (at least, to-date). The Enterprise-C, while I’m not a big fan of the design in general, is also quite good. Both are considerably better than their miniature versions. Are any of the XL ships worth getting? It seems like a lot of them have enough flaws to skip a purchase.
