The Scimitar looks awesome. The Klingon raider does too, except for the pointy bits, which kinda look like they are made of cardboard and added by someone else afterwards.

I see they didn't go for the spindly-Scimitar look. Good idea, that thing would have broken up in the mail worse than the Bajoran Sail Ship did.

someone on the facebook fan group has more detailed photos of these new models. the excelsior doesn't look quite so good as i was hoping, but it's still probably a yes for me:

Wish they would've went with the NX-2000 registry.

the klingon raider is another hideous design but a pretty cool model (that cockpit), apparently it comes with the wings(?) detached, a sign eaglemoss is learning something:

the scimitar looks like another good sculpt, but also just... brown:

amen.

there's also something about the CG model they're basing it off that is too skinny in the secondary hull, or something. and they did the transparent engines which is only in "flashback" and annoys me. and i'm always whining they skimp too much on transparent plastic, then unnecessarily load this thing up with it. oy.

The Scimitar is probably my least liked "black evil supersized enemy ship that threatens Earth" in any Star Trek movie.
It's a nice model - still looks vaguely BoP-ish (more so than the DIS-ones, actually). But yeah... no need to spend real money to get reminded to Nemesis.

That would have necessitated making a whole new model with the old oblong dome bridge, single impulse crystal and rear shuttle bay housing, just to name a few of the more major things off the top of my head.

As others mentioned, this one seems to be based on the Greg Jein version that was built for Voyager’s “Flashback” episode, instead of the original ILM version. The secondary hull is way too narrow and the aztecking is quite heavy-handed.

As far as XL’s are concerned it’s not bad. Not great but not bad. I’d give it a C+/B-.

more announcements include the cardassian freighter, another nebula class variant (USS melbourne), and an absolutely hideous excelsior prototype.

trekcore has a rundown with more pictures from the same source i used (including shots of the runabout looking not quite so bad but still bad).

Very happy that we’re getting the Scimitar, finally.
Only version of it so far is the detailed but small Attack Wing product.

It has a nicely compact hull, and the wings give it something faux-majestic when, really, it is a brute war-machine.

The Runabout is huge. Just a real shame they didn't make a simple change and give us the Rio Grande.

IIRC the big Playmates Runabout was also the Orinoco, but the little Micromachine was the Rio Grande. The Ertl kit had a couple of different name options.
