Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Each to his own I suppose... ;). Frankly, I LOVE the frankenfleet, K-9, etc. ships, specials, shuttles, etc. and hope the line continues for many more years to come. Just the fact that some of these ships are actually being done as a model is fantastic. I never thought I'd see so many obscure ships see the light of day. I can overlook the few "inconsistencies" in some models as overall I'm very happy for what I'm getting... especially at this price point per model.

I just think it needs to transition to a range rather than a collection. We like having the binders full of stuff to read about starships. Well. Mostly.
But then...if we had waited a few years, just bought the ones we liked, we could have still had the info, because they put the books out. Subscription actually seems to have less value. Though I was glad for them rerunning the ships, because I could replace our broken defiant and voyager, at the same time, it makes the point of being there day one, subscribing for however many years now, seem well...pointless. I won’t even mention that plastic fantastic Borg cube.
I’m getting fatigued I guess. Lol.

I actually prefer the calendar version to the TAS one. It actually looks like a ship that could have been built between the NX and the Enterprise.
It's a beautiful design no doubt. The only thing that bugs me is the implication that the secondary hull evolved as something that grew out of the saucer rather than as a secondary hull that was added to increase the ships overall power as Doug Drexler suggests with his NX refit. It's kind of a weird shape that you have there with a roundish cylinder in the middle of a saucer. I could see it working the other way round though, compacting the saucer and secondary hull after ships like the TOS Enterprise came along. Then I could understand that shape.

you're not alone. i'm not a subscriber of the regular collection (just discovery and we all know how that's going), but i haven't purchased a standard sized ship in over a year. in fact, i've sold off a bunch to get my collection down to a manageable size that just covers the basics.

there are a few ships left that are essential to me personally (regular, no BS borg cube either from TNG, first contact, or voyager... yridian destroyer... jem'hadar battleship... the son'a ships...) but it's unclear if those will see the light of day. they're clearly not eaglemoss' priority right now and thus my wallet is safe.

Ben Robinson twitter says that the Discovery subscriber gifts include a model of the IIS Shenzhou, plaques, scale charts and a figurine of the cgi creature.

I know it’s just a re-label but I love getting my hands on mirror ships. Happy puppy about the ISS Shenzhou. Long live the Empire!

The ship poster is also welcome. I’m just sorry we have to wait until September for the DSC line to resume. It’s only just April.

Standing in front of the Eaglemoss booth again. Any question regarding some of the new models? Details of the XL-Enterprise-A perhaps?

Quoted from the Discovery Size Argument thread:
We've got a size for the Shepard class

Ask and ye shall receive. Here's a photo of Eaglemoss' size comparison chart.

here are the "Klingon" ships. The so called "D7" (I think that's it) isn't called D7, but by a Klingon name which means 'Torch'.

May have been a writer mix-up in the original script. Probably wasn't even meant to be called a "D-7" in the first place. Such an unnecessary shit storm over nothing.

Whatever the intention, the episode clearly speaks of a ship with a tractor beam signature of the D7 class.
