John Eaves is too nice a guy to do that. He has survived through different regime changes probably because he is such an upstanding fellow who isn't outspoken on Trek's direction and definitely because he is a great artist. I hope him saying what he did hasn't got him in trouble. Since his posts were taken down I imagine someone said something to him and weren't happy.maybe they lied to get fans of their backs for the redesign.
Lonnie McAfee and I had a lot of fun working on the "Bonnie", we consulted with the original designer from Filmation and Trek starship designers like Doug Drexler and Rick Sternbach. They will always need new ships so maybe one day we will still get this in Eaglemoss form!Dang, got excited for a second at this picture.
It's a change for the better, the Kerala looks awesome!so there's been a change.
problem is none of eaglemoss' TOS-era models have looked that good. Here's a few other 'model' renderings:

It represents your fear of accidentally breaking off nimble components - nacelles are usually the most vulnerable parts - and being unable to fix it in any way.

Indeed. I broke one of the nacelles on my Equinox, not once, but twice. The K'T'inga too, though I was able to fix both.
I suppose it can be tough due to the lack of surface texture, although I'm quite happy with my TOS-era Connie, as both the Enterprise and Defiant.
From that list it's the only one I'd really want as a supersized model. The other ones are a little meh. How many Bird-of-Prey's will they release?!Ooh, I'll take a XL Runabout please!
Wow! So many good choices. It would be hard to pick just one...
This one. Everyone pick this, I want it as an XL so bad.Akira class

the romulan warbird is the only one of those that really piques my interest. but i'm clearly alone in that...The choices about ones they were thinking about doing:
Romulan Warbird, Nebula class, Starfleet Runabout, Excelsior, Delta Flyer, Akira class, Prometheus class, Enterprise J, Klingon Bird of Prey, K’Tinga Class.
you're right, there's probably a much smaller market for the discovery collection. but i don't even like star trek: discovery all that much and i'm really happy to get these ships simply because i haven't spent years obsessing over them. they're exciting and new. sometimes hideous and new. but still new.But beyond that, I think the Discovery ships simply aren't that much sought after as the classic ships. We spent years and years obsessing over most of them. DIS simply swamps the place with new ships. But most of them (especially the klingons) aren't that well liked in the first place, and I think it won't be too easy to convince lots of people to buy every background ship from the battle of the binary stars...
Then again, I could be totally wrong
