Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Was just charged $87 for the next months shipment. Last month I was only charged for 1 ship so I'm wondering if they're sending 4 this month which seems so given the $80+ charge. I wish they would get their shipments back on a regular 2 a month schedule as it's hard to budget each month not knowing how much I may be charged!

Maybe the regular monthly shipment and the Jellyfish?

Most likely. I just got an email saying the Jellyfish was coming soon and my cc is going to be charged on or around Feb 16.

I also received the email about the Jellyfish but stated it wouldn't charge me until Feb. 16 so I don't think that's it. If it is the next four ships that would put me at issue #89 the E-J which would be great as I'm looking forward to that one.

#91 USS Saratoga out today, picked it up earlier. Looked fine in the shop but when I opened it up and inspected it properly I can see one of the nacelles is at a funny angle on mine. Slightly annoying, but isn't too terrible. Might have to display at a certain angle so you won't notice!

Otherwise nice model. I mean yeah it's basically the Reliant without the rollbar at the end of the day (I know there's other differences but just saying) But still nice to have

^^^ Is it true that it seems to be a whole new model with noticeably different details and proportions and not just a repaint of the Reliant with the roll-bar cut off and side-sensors attached?

^ Definitely. I'll take photos and put them on Twitter tonight (GMT) so you can see it's a new mold.

Interestingly, I've got two Eaglemoss Reliants and one of them has the nacelle at an odd angle while my Saratoga is fine.

I've been picking up several on eBay because I don't have room for ALL of them. I've been selective so far. I am very happy with the 5 or 6 ships I have. Do they sell them over the counter at any shops or do you HAVE to have a sub?

Yeah some WH Smith have them but not smaller ones I've found. Also I know an ASDA that does them but never seen it in others. And the one that does only get one copy in, so if you don't get there quick it'll be gone. Even the WH Smith I normally get them from only get about 3 or 4 in. Happened now & again when I've got there and they'll be sold out.

As for the Saratoga, the saucer is slightly bigger than the Reliant so yeah it must be a new mold. But the detailing on said saucer does look almost identical on both. Not a criticism as I'm sure it was on the physical model of course, just saying.

Thanks guys......I've gotten most direct from Eaglemoss but had to eBay my 2009 Enterprise because they had none in stock. They all look brilliant.

Saratoga/Reliant: New Mold.
Notice how the Sara-nacelles lacks translucent plastic.

In other news: the Yeager type is a go. Source: https://mobile.twitter.com/Bobmat343/status/827133798131388416
The benchmark it had to pass: "It's canon...". Which would also apply to ships like USS Princeton (Niagara class) and USS Firebrand (Freedom class). #JustSayin

All three of those ships are really an assault on the eyes, but I suppose we should still be grateful that someone's being that thorough.

I picked up the Fed Scoutship the other day. Always nice to have another Starfleet ship, though this one's basically a shuttle, so not as exciting as a starship.

They did a good job on it. Not much else to say.

I wonder if the Yeager is going to have that wacky paint job. All the DS9 frankenfleet ships had odd, non-standard paint palettes.

For me, there's a 'holy trinity':
1) The ship appears in licensed Star Trek work, e.g. episode.
2) I've got a model of that ship in my hand.
3) I can fly that ship in Star Trek Online.

The largest admission to that pantheon is the Columbia class (NX refit). I hope the Yeager gets made and into the game soon.
Oh, and the Discovery by next year at the latest, I hope! :D

Assuming they ever settle on what that ship is supposed to look like by then...

I finally got the magazine which was missing from the Breen replica I received- I thought I might have to call again and see if they had forgotten about it.

I haven't gone through it in dept yet but it does have more information that what 'Star Trek: The Magazine" had in their article about it's creation.
