Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Sometimes it's a mixed bag when it comes to construction quality. I've had very few problems with any of mine. I think an NX nacelle arrived detached but it friction-locked easily back into place. You could call them to get a replacement or you could try resetting it yourself with superglue or JB Weld.

It was an eBay buy, so that's not really an option, and I don't really trust my ability to make manual repairs. I though, maybe I could find some way to put something on it to slowly push it in place, but I doubt it.

It's been so long since someone replied to this thread, it fell off the first page!

I got the Nebula the other week, which is one I really wanted. Unfortunately, the pod on top is really misaligned and pointing off-center. Anyone else have that problem? Other than that, it looks really good.

Sadly it seems to be a widespread issue with the Nebula. It's not the pod. Something in the rear struts of the whole secondary hull is misaligned. If you look the nacelles are probably slightly off as well. I think that ship is the worst QC and overal quality wise, so far released. Which is a shame, it's also one of my favorites.

Which weirdly means I might have to buy a second one to attempt to repair. It the secondary hull and the pod can be popped cleanly off it should be simply to clean them up and get then back on straight. I wonder if the freezing trick will work on the glue they used. (Old trick to disassemble a built up model in order to modify it. Freeze it. For CA type glues, the glue will become more brittle then the plastic and will shatter at the seams.)

Well, it's been six weeks since I received their answer from my initial question asking about American pre-order subscriptions.

I sent a follow-up email on Sunday to see if they got their database in order and, so far, have received no response. I find this odd, as they answered me quickly the first time I sent out an inquiry and were quite up front and truthful regarding their technical issues.

Has anyone who pre-ordered in America heard from them, either from a person or via an automated order confirmation?

I have had up and down responses from them by e-mail. Sometimes they respond the same day, other times it is more like a week later. It probably has to do with how many inquiries they are dealing with at any given time.

I've had nothing but good experiences with customer service. The clear plastic stand that goes into the black base broke on my USS Defiant, and they sent the entire issue again, no questions asked; Though they must've misunderstood which part I needed because when I received the replacement, it had the base, but no plastic stand. I contacted them again and they're sending yet ANOTHER full issue.

I picked up the Botany Bay (a rare non-Starfleet for me) and the Norway this week. They're both great! So glad I went for the DY-100; it's such a great design, and they've done a great job with it. Nice to see the sketches inside with more cargo pods in place. The Norway I had no real sense of at all before now (I guess because it has appeared basically nowhere), so just holding one in your hand is amazing!

I would love to know how or where they found information on the underside of the Norway? Supposedly that was all lost when the CGI files corrupted. Did they hunt down the designer and get him to describe it? Did someone find a crude low rez backup they could work from? Or did they simply wing it?

Have any American subscribers received their Norway models yet? My concern is that I never received, nor was charged for, the Norway model in February; and I want to make sure I'm not alone in this.

I just got my email confirmation and tracking number showing that the following are on the way:
ST61 x 1 - Norway Class
ST62 x 1 - Voth Research Vessel
ST63 x 1 - Antares
ST64 x 1 - Phoenix

Estimated delivery states they should be here Thursday.

Wow - 4 ships all at once? Never seen them do that before, nor have I seen any of these announcement emails, either.

I get an email about every third shipment, most of the time it's just a surprise to find something in the mailbox.

I should clarify - I usually get the email announcements for the shipments. Just haven't gotten one for this one yet with the 4 ships.

Well last week I finally broke down and ordered my 1st ship #50 the TOS Enterprise. It arrived today. I have to be very careful now or else I'll end up going in all the way, which sounds like a very dangerous (and expensive) prospect.

I know the feeling. :) It actually helps that the collection is so big, I know beforehand I'll not be able to get them all anyway. My solution so far has been to clear a shelf and allow myself as many purchases as there is space on it. I'll likely max out at 15 or so, so I have to be picky.

I never realized how flat the ship is until I saw it in person. It's frankly not my favorite Fed design, compared to something like the Akira, the Defiant, or the Centaur, but I'm glad to have it. All I need now is the Saber and I'll have all four.

Same here. I decided to keep my purchases to ships from the TOS time frame.
