There is always the option to just not watch. The mere existence of one show doesn’t negate anything another one has done.

I highly doubt that Avery Brooks would have contributed to the episode in any manner if it "ruined" the ending of Deep Space Nine in any way.

Brilliant! Can’t wait to see it. Just the other day I watched The 7th Rule podcast episode talking about Starfleet Academy to look if he would trip up, but he didn’t. Must have been tough to keep that kind of secret for so long, considering when this was filmed. I’m sure it will be awesome.
The Nerds of Color article seems to be down and I wonder if they realized they put it up too early. The accompanying post on Bluesky is still up though.

I think this return is very deserved, considering how Cirroc has been keeping flame of Benjamin Sisko burning for all these years.

Thanks to @tenmei I was able to read it. Great interview! And it certainly sounds like they approached this just right. It’s so good to hear how much that one line of Sisko in the Deep Space Nine finale saying he’ll be back influenced Tawny when writing this. As expected Tawny Newsome was just one step ahead of everyone on this. And I didn’t even realized how this coincided with Black History Month. Beautiful. I really hope the episode itself lives up to this genuinely wholesome behind-the-scenes miracle now.

The episode is written by two Star Trek fans.
The way Tawny goes on about DS9, she probably knows a lot.
A thought: the genealogy is focused on Jake, not Benjamin.
Except Kerrice Brooks leaked it in an interview several weeks ago.....
You know, my issue with these new spoiler tags where you can just blur out a name or a word or two and keep going is that many times the context of what's being said around the tags makes it pretty obvious what's being blurred out. 
Which means he didn’t keep it a secret for months? I’m not sure what you’re saying.
From what I ve learned, my biggest fears about how this will be ( broadly) handled / approached has been alleviated
