Game Star Trek Resurgence - new Star Trek videogame announced

I would hope they would look at the Prodigy game & see it's obviously directed at kids and not very appealing to adults, Resurgence is a completely different game.

Well that Star trek Prodigy game that was released in October 2022 on steam, has a peak player count of 8 since its launch, so i wonder if that has impacted on this game or the publishers view on it.
As a kids game where one of the main selling points is local co-op I wouldn’t expect huge numbers playing on steam. Much more likely console.

I'm going to gutted if this is shelved, the fact we don't have a release date when they say it'll be released in March is not encouraging, they usually have the release date stated months in advance.

It was pushed back 6 months from October 2022 and they stated it was to allow a final polish to the game, but when a game is this close to release and there is no updates and it is all deadly quiet, someone is not happy somewhere, usually the publisher, which might explain why all promotion for the game has gone the way of the DoDo.........but who knows, maybe the hype train for the game will explode in a few weeks time in Feb. ;)

That publisher (Outright Games) has plenty of games with around that same peak player count, even franchises like Paw Patrol and Transformers are peaking in the low double digits. I doubt Supernova had much bearing on the development of Resurgence.

I would be very surprised if we don't see a trailer for the game during Picard S3 so maybe the February hype train is a go?

Feels like this just fell off the face of the planet.

The tie in comic series is about half way through and the games official twitter is tweeting about that (last tweet 2 weeks ago so when it came out).

I’m taking that as meaning it’s not dead. Maybe delayed again.

Although with more and more games I’m getting surprised how quickly they come out after they’re announced so it’s not constant promotion beforehand. eg Anno 1800 Console edition was announced a couple of weeks back. It’s out in March.

Honestly it gives me no confidence that a game that is basically an interactive movie (with a few extra bits thrown in I know) has being delayed for a year with so little in the way of updates.

Makes me question if I should even buy it.

If this is what it looks like, meaning it's not a mindless shooter or action game with Star Trek skin, then I may actually be interested in this. I'm much more into puzzle games and things with a slower, more methodical pace nowadays.

So for everyone complaining that it's nothing more than a digital "choose your own adventure......" for me, that's MUCH more what I'd rather play than some standard button-mashing borefest.

Yeah the format of the game screams Star Trek, but unless the team are all students it really shouldn't take an extra year after the originally release date to get an interactive movie right.

After a year-plus of "polishing", I'm not sure they haven't changed quite a bit about the game.

Star Trek games are usually pretty horrid. If they spent time to do this one right, I'm willing to wait.

You know what I'd love to see? A simple "point and click" puzzle solving Star Trek game. Something really fun and challenging, but set in the ST universe.

They are cutting it very close to keep to that April launch, as i had expected something at least at this point, unless this just drops in April with no fanfare and no review copies, then you know what you are getting. lol
