Spoilers Star Trek Picard Season 2 Hopes and Predictions

Every season finale for the entire series run will featuring a Starfleet task force warping in to save the day just in time. The task forces will always be comprised solely of Inquiry-class starships with only minor variations in nacelle design, just to annoy Internet whiners.

Dixon Hill was set in a time decades before rap became a thing, right?

Yeah, but from a perspective four hundred years later, it's highly probable that 24th Century collective memory doesn't make strong distinctions between 1930s American culture and 1980s-2020s American culture. I mean, when you think about music and clothing from the 16th Century, do you make a distinction between between 1530s English culture and 1590s-1610s English culture? Could you really tell if someone did a show set in the 1530s that used clothing or music more appropriate for the 1590s, or vice versa?

I only don't like rap and hip hop music because I need melody and diversity in my music, and too many of these songs could be played on a piano with just a few keys. At some point, the lyrics didn't even have to rhyme anymore, and it was just plain speaking, no talent involved, no actual singing. They made it aggressive and arrogant to go beyond just talking, but music (for me) should be enjoyable, relaxing, uplifting, and not bullying my ears XD

Hip hop isn't really my jam, but I think you're letting stereotypes about hip hop music get in the way of really hearing and understanding the genre. There are all sorts of differences in style, subgenre, tone, and meaning between different hip hop artists. Sit down and listen to some of the most influential artists -- Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, the Roots, N.W.A., Ice-T, the Fugees, Jay-Z, Lauren Hill, TLC. Maybe listen to the original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton to see how hip hop can be used even in a stage musical. And of course, listen to the Big Three: Eminem, Biggie, and Tupac.

I defy you to listen to Tupac and not see true artistry.

Id love them to move beyond a human (or Earth-originating) focus - we have so many great aliens in the Federation, I'd just love more of that front and center. Obviously a bit spoiled by the novelverse in that regard, but can we have more sense of the bigger (if possibly contracting) Federation?

In addition, the wider sense of the societies beyond the Fed - all those minor entities the crews saw in the past, what happened to Cardassia since the genocide and rebuilding, where the Klingon Empire is, the Dominion, the Ferengi and other major powers, friend and foe. Like it doesn't need to be front and center, or even plot-centric, just more of the world of the present, in the background, in the news, in props and mise-en-scene. More scale, I guess :)

I hope we never see Dixon Hill again. Couldn't stand the character and for the most part, he made me cringe.

And commanded by a different old comrade of Picard. Next year, it will be Captain La Forge. Then Captain Troi, Captain Crusher, Captain Barclay...

Will Dahj come back as a villain?

Soji/Dahj would mirror her Dad's Data/Lore relationship:
That's pure fanfic. I'm not against fanfic, but I think the Picard writers could do better than turning a resurrected Dahj into the fucking Borg Queen.

I'm fine with never seeing Dahj or Soji or the golden version ever again

I simply found Raffi, Seven, Rios, Riker, Troi, and Elnor much more interesting. Oh, Narek, and Narissa could also never appear again IMO. XD

Yeah, I really had no emotional attachment to any of the synth characters or storylines by the end of the series. Dahj I rather liked, but they killed her off before I could get invested, and I found Soji to be a passive, less interesting retread. I'd trade in the pack of them (and Soong and Agnes too!) to get Hugh back.

Saying Elnor is more interesting than anyone is just mean.
Ya also happy to see the Lannister Romulans gone.

Rios was the best of them. I think he came across as an actual troubled soul worth exploring as opposed to Raffis cliche drug problems rebel thing. Rios and 7 seem to be the two that have the most interesting relationship to Picard

I hope we move onto other aliens in season 2. I want to see the current status of Cardassia. Are they still struggling after the founders nearly eradicated their race?
