My perception of PIC Season 3 is "TNG if it were done as a TOS Movie", but we'll see .

I think perceptions that it's going to be notably TOS movie-like are based on a couple quotes that were misconstrued.

Terry has chatted with numerous Trek fans and commentators not fond of the Abrams-Kurtzman style in an attempt to promote his show and grow the viewership for current Trek, as Terry predates the Robot / Hideout era, getting his start on Voyager and Enterprise. The fact that anyone finds this objectionable is absurd.

Because RMB is perhaps one of the more toxic representations of fans and not one whose endorsement I find encouraging.

Yeah, I'd heard about that last part, which is why I was a bit confused about the situation. From my experience, leaked material usually results in the IP-holders ignoring, disavowing, or taking legal action against the parties involved. So that this guy is getting positive engagement from the showrunner seems strange.

Most of these people aren't going to be like, "I hate all Star Trek made after 2005, but I like Picard Season 3!" That's a pipedream. You'll get a few, but not most.
