Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Left is less realistic not-skin, and right is realistic skin?

:guffaw:

While I recognize it's probably down to a mixture of lighting and changes to Dorn's own skin tone (lots of people get paler as they age) the difference in skin tone remains pretty dramatic.

The image of PIC Worf has "promotional" written all over it. I'd rather compare a still from a scene in PIC to a still from a scene in TNG or DS9.

The nose ridges look more like textured flesh with gradations of skin tone than the old DS9 and TNG Movie makeup but most everything else looks about the same.

Right, the ridges are less pronounced. Which is guess is an update? :D
Based on the interview, by update he means the way it's made, not the way its designed. It's faster to apply, and easier to take off. Dorn doesn't have to sit as long in the chair as he did during TNG and the movies.

Also the ridges aren't less pronounced, in fact the centre ridge looks more pronounced.

I think back to Rios choosing the 21st Century over the 25th... And I keep thinking that's like us choosing the 17th Century over the 21st.

I wouldn't mind going to Colonial America for a visit (assuming they don't kill me for not being white), but to live there permanently? I don't think so.

Terry has chatted with numerous Trek fans and commentators not fond of the Abrams-Kurtzman style in an attempt to promote his show and grow the viewership for current Trek, as Terry predates the Robot / Hideout era, getting his start on Voyager and Enterprise. The fact that anyone finds this objectionable is absurd.

Terry brought back into the fold several people that worked on Berman-era Trek, including some who've been critically vocal of past Kurtzman Trek efforts on social media. RMB knows several of these people. My guess is one of them told RMB to lay off Terry, that season 3 is good and season 2 isn't a good baseline for what's to come, and that got the ball rolling. In the RMB / Matalas interview, Terry says he has a good idea how RMB managed to see season 3, and that no one did anything illegal. Terry's also engaged with Popcast (who now run through Terry's tweets on their weekly live show), and the Inglorious Treksperts. They also have a great narrative going about how Terry got his start in the industry on VGR and he knows the franchise from the inside.

I'm genuinely excited for season 3.

Ditto I'm looking forward to seeing what happens at New York Comic con next week and with Brent Spiner being there I hope we finally find out what new character he'll be playing. Also hopefully anew preview for season 3 too.And more news abut season 3 and maybe the villlan too.
