Well they did update the First Contact/Insurrection/Nemesis Enterprise golden models to include the SNW Enterprise and VSS Enterprise. You don't do that unless there's an Enterprise conference lounge to display them! Plus John Eaves deleted his original post, which kinda says he or someone else realised what a huge indirect spoiler it was. He has zero luck on social mediaIf the Ent-F is the hero ship of Season 3 I doubt they'll use a STO design for the Ent-F. They'll want something original for the hero ship. If it's not the hero ship, then maybe.

So, I know I'm way behind you guys but I just watched Penance and thought it was very good. Probably stronger the the debut of Season 2 and probably stronger than any episode in Season 1. Plenty of fish out of water fun, a great pace throughout and how good is Annie Wersching as the Borg Queen, eh? She conveys a lot using only a little and absolutely exudes malign intelligence.
Good all around. Elnor shot too. I like the actor well enough but I still don't see the point in this character. He seems to exist purely to make dumb interjections or to be hand-waved into silence while other characters are talking to each other.

Yeah, I don't think there's a lot of argument about Penance. It's a good solid episode of Picard that rivals anything in season 1.
It's great to see everyone figuring out their situation, coming up with a goal and then executing their plan. Even if the plan does involve killing a lot of people.

I like talk of the CSS World Razer and Picard, Borg Slayer.
She's not a serial killer, she's a soldier, a serial killer preys after the more vulnerable. Seven defends herself and others from mooks and henchmen (and in her first scene she captures space pirates alive).
There are different types of serial killers. She'd fit what is called a "missionary" type, albeit also on the more opportunistic side.
A serial killer hunts down targets, outside that crime boss (who made it personal by killing Icheb while being a fling) she mainly kills folk who are dangerous to her and others.
Yeah, she's a paramilitary officer or freelancer who summarily kills "bad" people on occasion, and as part of a militia she engages in fights with other paramilitaries and crime syndicates in the former Romulan Star Empire and Neutral Zone.
While I doubt killing is a thing Seven or the Fenris Rangers are at all squeamish about, I thought the primary purpose of the Rangers was providing protection and security to those outside the reach of larger more official agencies like the Federation, Starfleet and any of the Federation's various charity organizations? Granted, we are talking about worlds in frontier regions where protection and security pretty much means a willingness to kill or be killed.
That said, I somehow doubt Seven's kill tally is as high as 600. She might have over a hundred kills, but I doubt it's much higher than 150, if it's even that high. Even hardened though she may be these days, Seven still doesn't strike me as someone who specifically intends to kill people, and I imagine she'll avoid killing whenever possible. We see this to a certain extent in the season 2 premiere where instead of killing the pirates who boarded La Sirena she merely tied them up and beamed them back to their ships. I'll grant that when she does kill someone, she probably doesn't have second thoughts or regrets on the matter, but that doesn't mean she'll kill someone if they don't need to die.
Killing Bijayzal and her goons was a different matter, a purely emotional impulse due to what happened to Icheb.

I think she killed roughly 250 to 300 hostiles in hand to hand or with phaser as of the start of S2, and maybe several thousand more when piloting Fenris a starship (ie. ships and buildings full of more bad guys).
How many Borgified mercs did she, uh, merc when she beamed them into the walls of the château catacoombs?
She looked peturbed when she vapourised a human Confed officer when fighting off her alternate husband from the "bad" timeline, and she probably didn't kill Bijayzal's enforcers when she shot them with a lower setting, though high stun settings can kill through concussion, etc.
Just watched Assimilation. First time for me, again, I'm way behind you guys. I'm still finding it all to be very good. Especially I'm enjoying seeing Alison Pill get a lot to do. it turns out she's a greater actor than I thought.
I still can't bring myself to give a shit about Elnor. It seems no-one knew how to write this character from the moment he came on the show. If anything, he's the one who should be in LA right now with Raffi dead maybe. There's a fair amount of fish out of water stuff to be made from dropping a 24th Century alien into 21st LA.
Good all around though. I'm really scared of stuff like demonic possession so the Borg Queen bit gave me chills at points. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine.

Yeah, season 2 definitely gives Alison Pill a chance to shine in a way she didn't get to do in the first season. And it's bizarre how underused Elnor has been. It's like one writer thought "Hey I've got a great idea, what about a naive Romulan ninja elf who cuts people's heads off with a sword and only ever tells the truth!" and all the other writers went 'Uh... in Star Trek? Seriously?' and then just kind of pushed him to the side as much as possible.
I didn't think Assimilation was quite as good as the first two episodes, but it's still a very solid story. And the resolution of the Borg Queen plot was great.

Got through The Watcher and Fly Me To The Moon today. I'm still enjoying it so far. Like, really enjoying it actually. But then its' supposed to dip about now is it not?
The Jurati/Borg Queen stuff is really fun. I wonder if me binging it makes for a better experience than you guys who waited week on week?
ETA: It did take a bit of a downtown for me when Spiner arrived with all the ham I have to say though. It seems a bit odd in general to put the Soji/Laris actors in different roles completely as well.

So, remember how posters on this board were so adamant that Picard's robotization would be a major part of the new season and that those of us who said they'd make a couple passing references and ignore it otherwise as it was just a dumb deus ex machina to being him back to life?
