Raffi seems an interesting character because cast interviews and non-canon sources suggest she was Picard's first officer, a security chief, an intelligence officer and a spy... that's a lot of backstory for one individual.

Rios is the commander of the hero ship, right? Then yes, I think he is former Starfleet.

I have suspicion that that they might have plans to spin off some of these characters in a more traditional Trek series once Picard has restores Starfleet to its former glory in the end of this show. Captain Raffi Musiker of the Enterprise 1701-F or something like that.

I had a count. Some are a bit hard because of not seeing beginnings and endings, but (maybe this should be its own thread?!)

The Monster Maroons lasted for 8 decades while the Enterprise and Discovery lasted about 20 years. The first TNG uniforms were possibly in use about a decade before we saw them.

The post-FC uniforms are of course up in the air as for how long they lasted, Lower Decks is set in 2380 but they have their own design

Have you served in the US Military? Each branch has a "uniform board" who does nothing but constantly make changes. In my time in uniform I think I went through 5 different camo patterns and 2 changes to service dress......at least Starfleet has replicators. We had to BUY ours when changes were made.

I guess the board had to justify their existence by constantly making changes........

The TOS movies had had high production values and cinematography but they still jelled with star trek also but the focus of these new prime Star Trek seems to be action witch is stupid for a Trek show

Action was part of Star Trek from the beginning. TNG was the one that started adding the 50 minute briefing room scenes and the let's talk the problem to death episodes; and Star Trek was worse for it IMO.

Wow, in Canada new uniforms are free. Only thing you have to pay for is non-standard issue things, like rain gear.

I'm not trying to get you into DSC, but I'd like to set the record straight. I'd probably say with the exception of the Mirror Universe arc, you could probably group most DSC episodes into sets of ones or twos, even with the larger overall ongoing plot.

1st Season, I'd say it's episodes: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7, 8-9, 10-13 (Mirror Universe), then 14-15. It has an overall story arc with a four-episode detour before heading back to the main story along with what it picked up on the detour. 2nd Season is even more individual stories within a larger arc.

Picard Season 1 seems to be the first one that truly actually looks like it'll be one story broken up into 10 parts.
