Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

A slab of wood that's been treated and sealed?

Watch them again. There's some bad, and mediocre episodes in there, but there's also some good ones that are pretty much classics and some of the highest regarded of the franchise. (Of note Q Who? and The Measure of a Man.)

Yeah it's... Rough. For sure. But they're hardly the disasters everyone always makes them out to be.
.
Yeah but those are the exceptions most of it is bad and just plain dickish on the part of Picard and crew

I always argued it made sense for her job, too. As a counselor she should be in fairly civilian-looking clothes and not like an officer who can order you around.
My problem was that Trek was always so one sided about fan service, if your going to do it *rolls eyes* fine but treat us all equally

Yeah, I think that was the idea, and it made some sense. Though I think she should have worn uniform in certain occasions, such as when meeting people as an official Starfleet representative.

This lady has serious issues

I think it make sense at times, if she is acting in that full counselor role or helping out families on the crew. When she is on the bridge it would make more sense for her to be in in uniform. This stands out egregiously (to me) in "Disaster" when O'Brien has to tell Ro what Troi's rank is.

Quick question about the first episode:

What was up with the acid attack on the girl at the end of the fight scene? I'm not sure exactly what happened.

It looks like the Romulan bit a suicide pill that used acid, you can see him bite down before spitting it.

We have a thread dedicated to the episode you can ask questions in.

The chap bit down on a tablet that started a chemical reaction turning it into a acid like substance. It started dissolving his tongue which is why it was green. It was mixed with his own blood.

A lot of people weren't really sure, I've seen reviewers and people here who seemed to think he literally spat acid out at her. (Acid generated by his body's own saliva or blood pooling in his mouth from his injuries.

It wasn't a very well shot bit, usually when you see people bite down on suicide pills in movies/TV you actually see them dislodge the pill, not just a weird mouth movement with the camera fairly fairly far away and his head/face covered in gear.
