As excited as I am about the show, Discovery still is tempering it to a degree.
The way the first teaser made her appear and say that line was very sinister. This actually shows that there's a genuine care for Picard and that they will never forget what he did for them and the Romulan people. Also, Orla Brady looks good as a Romulan!
German (shorthand D) pun on having the Berlin premiere on the 17/01/-D.
The clip from the Graham Norton Show is posted here. The clip featuring Picard and Data is screened at 11:10:
As I had expected, the Picard/Data scene is apparently the episode's very first scene, taken from Picard's dream sequence.
Pretty sure its just wooden beams from Picard's home with some vines wrapped around it and the night sky in the background.
The Firefly touch, they did something similar for Serenity. I wonder if 'built the entire ship interior' includes crew quarters - or do they all have to rough it in the cargo hold!
So according to Patrick, something happens to the dog and the show is set in the 2470’s.
There’s also a joke about Earl Grey.
... ok, so can we talk story about them transporter "moving walkways?" So I take it we can expect these on 2399 Earth. wow.
The Nostromo was also built as a whole set, IIRC.
Don't let the canonistas hear that! XD
... and that laser beam style replicator Picard uses to whip up an Earl Grey, very reminiscent of Discovery's engineering lab.
wait a minute, are ya'll trying to tell me the USS Discovery was already from the future?? WTF lol
I take it you haven’t watched the latest Short Treks?
Okay, having a birthday cake from the Trek crew and Stewart sitting at the table ... that's unfair!
I wonder what the significance of the Pyramids is on the upper corners of the cake?
Clearly the new threat are the Goa’uld
After seeing her performance in the first episode, and just how she is in interviews, I think she’s become my favourite thing in Trek right now.
Possibly a joke about him being older than they are?
The brains: Man, Kirsten got smacked over the last 5 years for nothing.
This is Star Trek, home of cookie cutter culture and cookie cutter couture.
FIVE days to go!
Give yourself a treat. The makeup artist, Sam, who worked with her for the London show, posted some more photos.
