Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Enterprise was the first series that I really liked and watched more then one time. 2nd place maybe Voyager but I just can't binge TNG except for a few episodes here and there.

TOS of course watched it a couple of times and missed most of TAS

Why do I hear creaking bones and laborious, wheezed, breathing? :p.

Let's see.... I remember catching an episode of TOS or two and TNG on late nights.

My first Star Trek material was Ghost Ship, a pocket book I found at the free hospital bookcase. I thought and still do think it was really cool.

I think it was 2005 when I started learning about Star Trek.

Enterprise was my first series. I love it. Flaws and all. TOS I find interesting as a relic. Its good. TNG is so long I never caught all the episodes. I didn't know Riker was without a beard XD outside of Farpoint. Never got to see DS9 or VOY. No ship named Enterprise, no attention of mine.

Ghost Ship *is* really really cool. That and Children of Hamlyn. Metamorphosis in a fairly further back third, and only *then* Imzadi.

I watched TNG every weekday at 6:00pm from 1991 to 1996. Also TOS during the summer, when they'd take a break from TNG to show that. I'd also record the episodes and watch them several more times! And, like I've said before, I pretty much wore out the VHS tapes of the TOS Movies when I was a kid.

So... I'm not going to count TOS, the TOS Movies, or TNG. I won't even try to guess many times I've seen them. It's been a LOT.

I've watched almost every episode of DS9 and VOY at least three times (except for the ones I deliberately avoid).

I've seen most episodes of DSC and PIC at least twice. If I haven't seen an episode twice, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I will. I've seen some episodes and seasons a lot more than twice.

And then there's everything else.

Succession will sweep it.

It's the "It" finale this year (that and the Ted Lasso finale).

That's nice to see the bill board supporting Star Trek Picard for awards. Scifi fanatics is interviewing Evan Evagora and talking about Terry Matalas telling him Elnor's character wouldn't be in season 3 and Michelle and Isa Briones telling each other about the news.Terry told them they all did a good job in the first 2 seasons.

It’ll get tech nominations and probably nothing else.

Interesting though that looking around you do see some lower tiered and NGNG predictions (like in the 10-12th range of rankings) for Michelle Forbes, Patrick Stewart, and Marina Sirtis from pundits and sites. Matalas and Paramount seem to only be pushing McFadden, Frakes, and the show judging by the awards stuff they’ve sent out and have on the FYC site. They could probably get a guest actress nomination for Michelle Forbes if Paramount actually pushed her a bit.

Just being NOMINATED is an honor in and of itself.

I'm not a huge TNG fan (TOS is and always will be my #1 Trek series, followed by SNW, TAS, DS9, ENT, STD, LDS, TNG, PIC......Prodigy...........VOY)

And I will give Matalas and the PIC writing staff credit that finally after 37 years, they managed to finally write the TNG characters as actual and relatable human beings with flaws and actual conflicts and emotions after 37 years (and for me made this version of the TNG crew actually interesting and watchable); but the PIC S3 plot itself was a HUGE mess, and the manner of the Borg Queen defeat itself was a big 'meh' for me.

The set design team SHOULD get an Emmy for the work they did on recreating the Hotel Lobby style bridge of the 1701-D; but for the hackneyed end with yet another Borg Queen defeat.... no.
