Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

TOS = bad/evil Captains and officious, incompetent bureaucrats.
TNG/DS9 = bad/evil Captains as well as Admirals and officious, incompetent bureaucrats.
DSC = Starfleet brass as well as civilian representatives more than willing to commit planetary genocide during a war.

The uniforms and technology change but the imperfections remain the same. The Federation pretends it's a utopia but it's just a really well-oiled and shiny machine with a large amount of grime under the hood and occasional dangerous drivers.

Nah, that was just a Starfleet policy. After DSC revealed that even Ambassador Sarek of Vulcan was glad to go along with an Admiralty plan to detonate a bomb at the heart of the Klingon Homeworld it's been clearer than ever that the shiny world of the Federation is more gloss and public image than actual internal behavior.

Oh yeah they were more then willing to blow up a planet.

Why do I hear creaking bones and laborious, wheezed, breathing? :p.

Let's see.... I remember catching an episode of TOS or two and TNG on late nights.

My first Star Trek material was Ghost Ship, a pocket book I found at the free hospital bookcase. I thought and still do think it was really cool.

I think it was 2005 when I started learning about Star Trek.

Enterprise was my first series. I love it. Flaws and all. TOS I find interesting as a relic. Its good. TNG is so long I never caught all the episodes. I didn't know Riker was without a beard XD outside of Farpoint. Never got to see DS9 or VOY. No ship named Enterprise, no attention of mine.
