Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I do hope we get back to the deep, dark Romulan secret, why more Romulans aren't assimilated, and why the Cube malfunctioned after Romulans were assimilated, and why thise Romulans lost their minds.

There were some hints in this episode of new things. The planet with two red moons that Soji saw in her dreams was referred to as a "homeworld." Seemed to suggest we're not dealing with the Borg, but something else entirely.

Does anyone have the exact information on how much money Patrick Stewart got for playing this role again in this series?

I noticed that Rios is really good with getting the La Sirena name and logo out there! Notice the mugs and other little things on his ship have the emblem, even having custom made communicators!

I thought that was funny for a privately-owned ship that's essentially a for-hire or privateer vessel.

Maybe he should have a souvenir stand near the transporter...

Folks might have a duty free menu in their quarters before leaving so their stuff beams out with them.

I know this is tough to accept, but stay with me here. Patrick Stewart has reached a stage of his life where he doesn't need to work anymore. He can comfortably enjoy his retirement. Living off of the money he previously made from Star Trek and X-Men. He doesn't need to do anything just for money.

He decided to do Picard because he wanted to. He did it because he made Michael Chabon go through the hoops to make sure the series wouldn't be another TNG. If Patrick Stewart only cared about the money, he wouldn't have made Michael Chabon work so hard to get him.

Can we frame this and adopt it as the standard answer to all the "STEWART IS RUINING STAR TREK FOR A PAYCHECK" screams? Pretty please? :techman:

He also has a tattoo of a mermaid on his upper left arm.

Anyways, I like this answer.

Yes. Not me, of course, but the people who write paychecks and negotiate contracts know the amount. And Stewart, as well as his agent and anyone he has told.

Here's the phone number for CBS: 1 (888) 274-5343

They might not give you a direct answer, but if you have a legitimate need for the salary information, they could connect you to the correct agent and go from there. Good luck!

She'll be back sometime in the next four episodes.
I could see the Picard and Soji going to the Fenris Rangers for help now that the Romulans are possibly after them.

It probably wouldn't be that hard to program the replicator to put the logo on stuff, and from a real world perspective it's a perfect merchandising opportunity. Hell, now that I think of it, half the reason the Discovery crew has the Disco T-shirts is probably to have shirts to sell on the StarTrek.com store.
