Five seconds before the episode fades to end credits:

QUARK(Beaming aboard with two Dabo girls at his side): "Guess who, hew-mons? It's your old pal Qua..."

[*Fade to black*]

"NEVER MIND."

Spoilers are looking juicy but haven't seen it yet.

So in a nutshell:

Picard gets an extension until the end of the series
Riker appears and stares down the Rommies
Romulans chicken out and go home when confronted like usual
Rissa gets the sidious treatment from Seven
Seven joins crew :adore:
Ship porn
No cliffhanger

This is why I didn't use a 10 for any of the earlier episodes, kept it in reserve.

Nah. They'll just handwave Jurati killing Maddox. No big deal - Voyager did that shit all the time. Seven knows what's up.

Yeah, what the heck did that have to do with the rest of the season? The whole time they were on that kick, I was thinking "wait, where did this come from? Did I miss something?"
No resolution of the condition of refugee Romulans, condition of synths handwaved away, and the only thing not making this the new Khan blood is personal choice.

Didn't Agnes say way back that they downloaded the D/data in B4 because he couldn't handle it and was shutting down?

I was not clear from watching. Maybe I missed it and they did say. Does she carry it with her? They just happened to have a separate copy handy? She grabbed a copy to take with her from Earth and decided to upload it to a computer there for some unknown reason? Or maybe Soong had a copy? Not sure where it came from. But there it was a on the shelf. The goal seemed to be, for it to interact with Picard, since there was no named plan to bring Data back.

Agnes had nothing to do with the Data simulation. Maddox was the one who recovered Data's neuron from B4 and smuggled it out of Daystrom when he left Earth. It was all Maddox. We've been told that from episode one.

The "ship porn", such as it was, was easily the worst part of the entire episode, and it just provoked a "meh". So I guess you could say I liked the episode!
I am always happy to see new ships, not a surprise that Starfleet would design more outright warships after the Dominion War and attack on Mars, its just a continuation of the thinking behind the Akira, Steamrunner and Defiant classes designed in response to the Borg.

It also explains the use of the term squadron in the earlier episodes, it is essentially a Destroyer/Battlecruiser Squadron.

Would like to see Riker on board a larger flagship of some kind but that is a minor niggle and will have no bearing on my enjoyment of the episode.

It would be nice to see a true Explorer ship again before the end of the series, the Odyssey class would be ideal, seeing STO ship designs in Picard supports the idea that the USS Verity we saw in the comics will eventually be shown to be canon, although they are clearly not sticking to STO launch dates for them.

It makes sense that the larger Explorer ships would be out exploring leaving Destroyer Squadrons to defend home territory and react to threats.

Stick the landing
I am getting so fucking sick of that phrase.

No GIGANTIC THE ENTERPRISE HAS 200 FIGHTERS ON BOARD battle was a bit refreshing.
Who needs an Enterprise with 200 fighters when you can have 200 Enterprises?

Wow. I'm glad that I made a deliberate choice to not watch the opening credits. I woke up the entire household whooping and cheering when Riker showed up.
Even if you didn't catch the credits, it was obvious he'd be in it when a scene of him was included in the previouslies.

Let us be thankful for the following:

- The Vulcans are not synths.
- Romulans are not synths
- The Romulans did not invent the Borg

Alot of what we feared did not happen.
And nobody was Lore or a hologram.

That doesn't answer my question tho. :angel:I am always concerned about the REALLY important things. I need to know the fully functional thing. It's... umm... for science.
So you're asking if he...eats?

I dont remember them saying that he suceeded in recreating the Data Soul/Katra, put it in a box, and took it with him to another planet and then leaving in on a table wherein his consciousness was living in a Holoworld where he listened to music and dreamed of being turned off permanently. Maybe you only meant that the DataKatra was taken from Earth by Maddox, but I don remember that being est either. Not before today.

@The Old Mixer -- Riker and Troi were both in the previous episode's "previously on", so I didn't give it a second thought.
It's all about the context of what they show...in the previous episode, their scenes were conveying information relevant to the story. In this one, it was just to remind us that Riker and Picard were buddies.

When Data said "my brother", for a brief moment I thought he was going to mention Lore, but it was Altan.

We're introduced to the concept of fractal neuronic cloning by Agnes in episode one, who says it was what Maddox was working on before the ban. Soji and Dahj are the product of that process, created by Maddox. Soji and Dahj are created from Data's neuron. Therefore Maddox had Data's neuron and took it with him to Coppelius. The rest should fall into place pretty easily.
