He probably got together with Sutra, they deserve each other.

The last we saw him the Synths were carting him back to the cell.

Thanks, you two!

I know a lot of people don’t much care for the character but I hope he returns next season. He hasn’t even found out his sister is dead yet. His story is wide open for potentially more interesting fare, and I find Harry Treadaway to be a capable actor.

I get why Data wanted mortality but why did he have to die again right then and there? Especially as they had the means to put him into an android body with a finite lifespan. Picard would have said "Data, you take that android body, I had a full life and it's my time to go, you deserve a second chance to live a full human-style life".

Was that Data's Sherlock Holmes smoking jacket or at least a similar one? It would have been so great if the book he was holding was a volume of works of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Sure looked a lot like it...

I know I said I didn't want them to put Picard in an android body, but then Chabon had to go and make it EXACTLY what I wanted. We would have never gotten the Data moments without that. Picard would have never gotten closure. And Data got a much more fitting farewell.

That alone was worth the price of admission.

Because Data specifically made the request of Jean-Luc.
That's why.

Again, it's not rocket science, does no good to over evaluate it.
It's two good friends saying goodbye for the last time.

Data even says to Picard, (paraphrasing)
"Do you think I regret sacrificing my life for yours?"

Yes, Picard was resurrected in the android golem. He's now an android, albeit with an aging chip and finite lifespan and no android abilities.

You could make the argument that Picard is dead and the android is one that just has Picard's memories and personalities and believes he's Picard. I guess it doesn't make much difference to anyone else as the android would act the way Picard would.

This is going to make any future Picard reunion with Dr Crusher (or Vash) be a bit awkward ;);):hugegrin:

7/10 - Much better than last week. Some good moments. They avoided some of the dummery we feared.

Let us be thankful for the following:

- The Vulcans are not synths.
- Romulans are not synths
- The Romulans did not invent the Borg

Alot of what we feared did not happen. Other thoughts:

- I thought bringing Data back just to kill him again was emotional but manipulative.
- I am glad Seven kicked Rizzos ass and tossed her over the railing. Though Seven should know that Palpatine est that being flung to your death over a railing is not an absolute guarantee of lasting death.
- Hey, the Handwaviumeter can not only magic fix the ship, it gives you whatever you ask. Ugh.
- We knew the android body would be used for someone. Bringing Data back or a workaround for Picard were the two answers. Now we know.
- The new, bad assest ships of Starfleet are butt ugly. But apparently a whole fleet them is available, so they came in handy. And since they are apparently been buying stock footage online to save money, I am betting that making them ALL the same ship was money saver.
- Lesbianic love between Seven and Raffi is apparently a possibility. That's fine. Her love affair with Chakotay was random, stupid and inexplicable. This is better.

None of the starships in Riker's armada had registry numbers on their hulls. I'm wondering...could some of them have been holographic projections to fool the Romulan attack fleet? Was Riker in on the plan and have holographic decoys planned?

Well, I guess the folks in charge of the CGI effect had forgotten to put the numbers on??:shrug:

That was an excellent episode. I am giving it a 10.

Riker was awesome in his appearance.

The new design for the Starfleet ships saucer's section reminds me of a cobra's hood from the back.
