Rumor is that Rios is himself a hologram and thus the ship is entirely automated. His captain who was killed was the real Rios.
I love this idea. I hope they do it.

I'm pretty sure Oh's control over Jurati is subconscious, so she's a kind of manchurian cyberneticist (or I hope so, since I like her character too). The way the character is played is a bit foreshadowing, but her turning out having been a spy knowingly would be pretty jarring.Jurati keeps behaving very suspiciously; the way she's inserting herself into every conversatation left me feeling as if the show almost wanted us to think she was spying on everyone for Oh. But I still can't help but like her, and she was once again behaving like a more mature Tilly... I loved how she practically weaponized the Tilly-trademarked rambling with the obvious intention of getting under Rios' skin and learn something about him. And I also loved how Rios curtly shot her down by simply telling her what his book was about.
before it was outlawed the wanted to sell it in kentucky, may be?I am wondering why they call it Romulan ale, each time I order an ale in the UK, I am served some kind of a beer... Romulan ale seems more like hard liquor to me. Does anyone have an idea?
Yeah, I hope she's just naturally nosy and wants to get to know the people around her.I'm pretty sure Oh's control over Jurati is subconscious, so she's a kind of manchurian cyberneticist (or I hope so, since I like her character too). I'm not sure if the rumor is believable in light of the fact we see Rios being injured in the shoulder, getting treatment, etc. that a hologram wouldn't need.I love this idea. I hope they do it.
Someone up-thread said it was Spanish.especially the holograms - what language did the e-gunner-h speak, btw?

Zweifellos. Hatte selbst keinen ernsten Vorfall, wir beäugen uns bloss gegenseitig skeptisch, üblicherweise. Aber die wissen definitiv, dass ich Katzen weit vorziehe.Die Drecksviecher riechen die Angst

Well, to be fair, he was treated by another hologram and it could just as well be simulated to make a certain impression on Picard. But it's definitely "I believe it when I see it" category.I'm not sure if the rumor is believable in light of the fact we see Rios being injured in the shoulder, getting treatment, etc. that a hologram wouldn't need.

So, an EODH, Emergency Overly Dramatic Hologram?how about a grandstanding hologram?
So, an EODH, Emergency Overly Dramatic Hologram?
That is, if the theory of him being one is true. We might call him EIH, Emergency Impostor Hologram, then.

I'd say fan theory, rather than rumour.Rumor is that Rios is himself a hologram and thus the ship is entirely automated. His captain who was killed was the real Rios.
I think to be more specific it was Chilean Spanish, which I gather is pretty distinct from other Spanish dialects.Someone up-thread said it was Spanish.

Only Marcus Brody speaks that.probably why i thought portugese - i didn't sound like regularspanish (i don't speak spanish - if it had been ancient greek, however ...)
Since Trek is now trying to be edgy (with the Soji/Narek/Rizzo scenes) and they're going out of their way to make Jurati look creepy, they should have had the lines:
Agnes Jurati: So, Captain Rios, can one of your holograms and I...?
Rios: No.
