the only thing that threw me off with the photo is i was always under the impression Picard had hair back when he was that young. Maybe it was implied?

The photo is problematic in several respects. The costume designer's intent in ST2:TWoK was for a trainee to wear the jumpsuit with a red collar, not black. And Picard indeed had lots of hair right after graduation - so much in fact (see TNG "Tapestry") that it would be mildly difficult to believe that he had shaved it all and then let it grow back, unless that bald pic is from his first year or something.

Perhaps Picard didn't dig up an old photo of himself, but of some enlisted bloke who looked almost exactly like Shinzon and used to go out with Beverly Crusher? Neither of those two actually calls the guy in the photo the young Jean-Luc, after all - merely somebody Beverly used to know. Which as such is a bit of an issue, because supposedly she and Picard only met later on.

Oh, well. It's not a capital offense or anything, so let's not lose our... calm over it.

Yes but its walk out of theater bad for me. Worse than most anyone I know..

Thanks. Doesnt sound too bad then. Relieved we don't see the headless corpse. Appreciate your nonjudgmental answer to my question.

i may have no prob with a proper beheading but i'm a high end canophobe (means changing street sides for a free running dog of a special breed or highth) so i certainly can relate to that

You know somehow I wouldn't call being afraid of being beheaded an irrational fear

I would. I'd put it on par with being attacked by a shark or hit by a meteorite. It's just about as likely to happen as that for the vast majority of us.

The acid is clearly contained in some kind of suicide capsule they bite down on, rather than being some kind of biological ability, so if they're carrying them, sure.
I have a feeling Narek probably took his out before being intimate with Soji.
Could really end badly should it accidentally pop before he does.
:barf:

(I just realized that this gives a whole new meaning to that particular emoji)

I could see young Picard shaving his head if he figured it would aid him in any way where it came to in scoring with the cougars he was chasing at the time or as part of some Star Fleet Academy hazing ritual.

I need a favor from my fellow trekbbs posters. I have an irrational phobia with beheadings. Can someone describe the scene or sequence where it happens so I can turn away/fast forward a few seconds?

Look away around 34:50-35:10, according to my timestamps. Now that you know it is there, you will know it is coming from the context of the scene.

Kirk was the one with a thing for older (or at least older-looking) women, as per "Shore Leave"...

I'm pretty sensitive to a lot of different types of "adult" content, so I'm right with you. Thankfully the answers here have been good and useful.

Not a highly irrational fear, IMO, considering how many dog bites there are on record in the US every year and how many of those get infected based on statistics.

Have you watched Tapestry? Even 50+ Picard felt uncomfortable with Penny and called her a 'handsome woman'.

Is the spinning "sculpture" above the Romulan restaurant supposed to be an homage to DS9? Speaking of DS9, Freecloud would've been a perfect spot for a Quark cameo :(.
