Narek’s acting was awful in this episode, plus the Raffi scenes were weirdly done.Did anyone else find the acting in this episode a bit wooden?

i'm going to read that thread of yours
Worse attacks? Hardly. The Synth attack took out the Utopia Planitia orbital shipyards and any ships that were there, the shipyards' planetary facilities, and the Utopia Planitia colony which I imagine had a civilian population of thousands if not millions. Fourteen years later Mars itself is still uninhabitable. Now let's compare that to the attacks you mentioned. The Breen decimated Starfleet Command and San Francisco, though I got the impression the death toll was relatively small. Also, everything was rebuilt within six months or so, based on Voyager. In TBOBW the Borg destroyed thirty-nine Starfleet starships and three pods from the Mars Perimeter Defense. A terrible blow to be sure, but a nosebleed compared to what the Synths did to Mars. In First Contact we don't get full totals on Starfleet's losses, but I doubt it was much worse than TBOBW. The Xindi attack did result in a majority of civilian casualties, but likely significantly less than were lost on Mars, and Starfleet didn't suffer any losses to ships or facilities in the Xindi attack. So, no, the attacks committed by the Borg, Breen and Xindi are not far worse than what the Synths did. Hell, even the combined damage from those attacks is probably still less than the Synth attack.Especially when Earth itself has suffered far worse attacks from the Breen, Borg and Xindi
Love the Blues Bros. I could tell ya stories.Elwood: There's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark out, and we're wearing sunglasses. Joliet Jake: Hit it!
i read it now. and i think it's impressive, i want to thank you for sharing.
i wish you all the best and maybe an urge to give it back to whoever needs help - whoever, however.
may the universe bless you and live long and prosper

Off topic: I'd just like to say that I'm 60 years old and smoked for most of my adult life. I haven't had a cigarette in almost 2-1/2 years. I think about it every day, but I don't do it.
To any smokers here: if you want to quit, you can do it. One minute at a time. It gets easier every day.
she's a movie nerd - too much blues brothers
Real smokers make sure that there are lighters or matches on hand at all times. At least cars don't have cigarette lighters to remind you any more.![]()
re: sunglasses
Mirror universe crap again?
What's with Commodore Oh wearing sunglasses when she went to question Dr. Jurati? Why would a Vulcan need sunglasses on Earth? Vulcan has much more intense sunlight, as evidenced by Spock's third eyelid that protected him from light that would have fried the retinas of a human.
Trek has always been more subtle about such things, not beating you over the head with it. At least before the painfully unfunny "double dumbass on you" or Data being "fully functional." We never saw Kirk actually in bed with anyone. There's a difference between addressing today's situations and adopting the mannerisms and lingo of today, which will probably be dated within 10-20 years. Good thing TNG never used "radical" the way this show used "pro tip." TOS never had political intrigue within Starfleet and TNG avoided it for the most part, with the notable exception of "Chain of Command," "The Pegasus" and "Conspiracy," although the last didn't really count because that was alien parasites, not actual Starfleet officers.Trek has always been about today and is no stranger to sex, political intrigue and even swearing (As much as was allowed or they could get away with).
It's funny and incongruous hearing a Romulan speaking in any Earth accent, unless they were born and bred there.....It's funny and incongruous hearing a Romulan speaking in an Irish brogue..

What's with your total non sequitur? No human character ever wore sunglasses on Trek. A Vulcan would need them even less. What was with Geordie laForge wearing that visor of his?
Or maybe she's afraid Dr. Jurati would neuralyze her.I doubt it. Just shorthand for "she's a bad guy, in case you forgot."
