Yep. Which is why I always laugh when people demand that TPTB "listen to the fans" or "give the fans what they want," as though we all speak with one voice and want the same things.

We never agree on anything--as this board proves everyday! :)

We also tend to send mixed messages, as in:

"Too many infodumps! Too much exposition!"

But also: "Why haven't they mentioned Lal? Or Beverly? Or Picard's sister-in-law? Or The Dominion War? Or Voyager? Or given us a fuller explanation of this or that plot point?"

We can't insist on everything being spelled out for us right away and complain about too much exposition. :)

Essentially, a masochists perfect dreamworld.
;)

We shall see, if the ship is referenced in Picard then its canon and that will create some unhappy campers on the forum, then again there are always unhappy campers on the forum so never mind.
If any capital type Starfleet ship is shown in Picard, it sure as hell won't be "USS Verity" :)

Picard: Get us out of here!
Rios: Engines are down
Musiker: Another ship is coming in. It's the... Verity
98% of Star Trek fans: Who?

If some/any major Starfleet ship will be coming to Picard's rescue, you bet your ass it's going to be instantly recognizable, and not something read by relatively few people in a comic book and wasn't even canon until the first time it appeared.

Except this happens all the time in fiction: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RememberTheNewGuy

Mind melds make perfect sense now. One synth merging thoughts with another. Katra makes sense why the mind can live if body dies. Just need a new synth body.

See, I don't want them to take the mystical elements out of Star Trek. The diversity of life makes it far more interesting. Making Vulcans robots just because some writer has a hair up their ass over religion and God would be disappointing to me. And I'm not a religious man.

It did raise my eyebrows a bit that Rafi said she was fired, but that’s not a thing for Starfleet Officers, you just get reassigned.

There’s a balance to be struck with exposition. You don’t need a rundown of how every character in the entire universe is doing. But a mention of why plot developments that were reversed were reversed, or characters whose fate would be directly impacted by major plot points, would be nice, just to close holes in the universe.

They are certainly treating countdown like it’s canon. They made characters introduced there into main cast.

I haven't seen anyone to be unhappy with the idea of Verity or the Odyssey class being included, merely pointing out that they currently are not canon. It has nothing to do with disliking the concept, merely setting the facts straight.

Raffi Musiker and the two Romulans are the only ones I noticed. Lots of Discovery characters show up in "Desperate Hours", the book that was supposed to be canon.

[QUOTE = "BillJ, post: 13253397, member: 222"] Para el público en general al que sirven la Flota Estelar y el gobierno de la Federación, probablemente una IA es una IA. No importa en qué tipo de envoltorio se encuentre. [/ QUOTE]
¡o no! ¡En el primer episodio vimos un holograma en una instalación de flota!

tal vez la gente piensa que un holograma que sale mal es menos peligroso que un android
