nice idea. if that's true why wasn't rios 'deactivated'?What if Rios is a synth? And the ibn Majid was a Starfleet testbed for synthetics controlling a starship? Which would explain why all records of it were wiped away.

For all we know He could be a hologram with a hidden portable emitter (the way the doctor was in Renaissance Man)
A hologram with a protecting force field around the portable emitter would be practically invulnerable.
What if Rios is a synth? And the ibn Majid was a Starfleet testbed for synthetics controlling a starship? Which would explain why all records of it were wiped away.
Given what Hugh said - did Seven return with voyager and find she was a non-person as an xB and they tried to throw her in a prison camp?
I doubt that. Seven had returned long before the events. But who knows what the writers have in mind.
I think there have been theories that everyone on the show is a synth.
Well we already know she is openly hostile to Starfleet and something has to cause that...
Yep. But that's the type of show they've chosen to give us. The "wiping away all records of its existence" kinda gave me a red alert.![]()
Wait. What if I'm a synth?
Well we already know she is openly hostile to Starfleet and something has to cause that...

My thoughts exactly. This is starting to feel like NuBSG all over again, with synths (cylons) becoming indistinguishable from humans, and causing a massive attack on human homeworlds.I really hope Picard doesn't turn into some cut-rate expy of nuBSG.
This has all happened before, this will all happen again.

Literally.
I think by the end of season 1 the synths will have redeemed themselves. That's the way it goes with ST at any rate.
All of the sudden, there is a new class of people who are 100% indistinguishable externally from biological humanoids in every way, but they're somehow "synthetic" and thus need to be treated as monsters?
They have two more seasons to do. So I don't think it'll be that cut and dry.
