Man what a bitch that CNC was. I hope she dies painfully. You shouldn’t talk like that to Picard. The third best captain in Starfleet. Hell, she shouldn’t speak like that at all.

Apparently she's either Necheyev 2.0 or Satie 2.0

wasn’t a big fan of the beginning. Just didn’t feel Star Trek to me. Felt more Alien like, Especially with the rogue Synths.

Or new BSG w/its plotlines of AI running amok destroying humans and the possible of existence newer, more human-like Synths (Dahj could be a prototype).

The reasoning as to why the Federation withdrew is a bit flawed as well. So 14 planets threatened to leave. They are made out of hundreds of planets. They could recover. Also having the Romulans as a ally would easily remedy that. I also don’t buy them not having enough ships. The Federation is made out thousand of ships. Otherwise they wouldn’t be the Federation.

And they might be on the run from the Romulan Franken-scientists who based on the trailers - are hunting down liberated Borgs for used in next generation of synths or some other sick experiement...
Im guessing that even if they got involved willingly. They have developed concerns that something is not right in this operation.

Funny seeing the Commodore rank again. Didn’t get a good look at the pips to see how that is represented.

At least Necheyev had a bit more decorum. She wouldn’t be using foul language or attacking Picard for a little criticism.

It seemed to me that the Romulans are just destroying the BORG.
Due to their complete distrust and hatred of any Synths.

The Synth attacks are most assuredly caused by this secret Tal Shiar, right? The attack led to a galactic Synth ban.
Probably. They might be the chaps who blew up the sun as well. No doubt working for the Iconians. :)

Agreed. You shouldn't get to just up and leave the Federation because you disagree with one political decision. If that was the case, the Federation would never have been able to exist for as long as it has. Planets would be dropping out constantly over minor policy differences. Same reason why US states can't just pop in and pop out at will, no matter how they might disagree with the Federal government.

It was dumb.

Another episode that was part clunky, part good. I'm excusing them because I'll let the series find its feet. I'm not going to complain in earnest until the show gets going.

- I didn't like the Space CSI part in Dahj's apartment, but I understand it's necessary for the plot so I'll let that go. But that stuff just didn't feel like Star Trek. It felt off. But again, there was a point to it so I let it slide. It's cool to see the new displays, at least.
- I love the Romulan couple. So far they're my favorite. I didn't read the comics so I don't know their background, but they're fun
- The Admiral scene had cringey dialogue. Standard order Admiral who's at odds with Picard. We've seen it enough so we know what to expect, but their argument needed to be rewritten, IMO.
- Romulan secret hijinks....that's a plus. Though so far I'm completely bored with Narek. When they called him sexy or whatever, I laughed.
- So Picard will have something like Irumotic Syndrome after all. Kinda sad, but the die was cast from way back, and at least we know we're getting 2 seasons. I just don't want to see him have "episodes" of dementia. Please....just no.
- The Federation has been infiltrated yet again. Will heads explode this time?
- I'm intrigued by the plot so far. That's good. I like this more than the first 2 episodes of Discovery, at least.

Yet even in war time they only seem to be able to generally throw out a few dozen starships at best.

Laris implied this new uber Tal Shiar has been around for millennia, right? And that their 'prime directive' (to borrow a phrase) revolves around putting the kibosh on any and all artificial life. Well, what if that fear originated with the Borg - which is what all the research is about now?

I mean, given galactic geography, it's a given the Romulans were the first Alpha peeps to run into them. But what if that happened thousands of years ago?

They had big fleets on the war. You just didn’t see them all. Also that’s just Starfleet. I’m talking about the Federation as a whole.
