Star Trek minidresses

Reagardless of what fashion will be like in the next 300 years, the skant is stupid for men. That thing is so short, you'd be hanging brain all the time. Can you imagine sitting at the helm and turning aound to address Picard and getting a full on view of his junk?

The skant (skirt/pant) has a divided leg, like culottes. Even the mini used in TOS had one leg wrapped by material.

In fact, research shows IIRC, that - after sensible starts with loincloths, togas and kilts - human fashion trends got it wrong. It makes sense that males wanting to stay fertile should wear skirts rather than pants. Pants can keep the testicles too close to the body for sperm production.

Will underwear have fallen out of fashion in the next few hundred years? Same goes for the women wearing the skant.

Personally, I would not have minded at all had the skant appeared beyond the pilot episode.

It would have been fun seeing Picard and Riker wear one, or Worf to give that "gladiatorial feel" to them.

The dress uniform skants that Picard and Riker wore, looked wonderfully regal and Tudor

Microskants can be worn with gymnastic underpants as they did with minis in TOS, or shorts.

I remember reading in the West, trouser/pantaloons are Germanic in origin. The Romans used to mock them, and thought the pantaloons were barbarian wear.

You can't keep the boys locked up!

Does this mean you don't wear underwear now?

If you don't want to see "someone's junk" as they wear a skant or whatever, make wearing undergarments mandatory. Or don't look down there.

Underwear or not, do you really want to be sitting at the helm and have Riker come up next to you and put his foot up on the console in a minidress?
