Given how many Evil Admirals Starfleet has, they probably figure one who's only real crime is going AWOL is worth keeping. After all, he's not plotting a coup, in league with an enemy power, conspiring to derail peace initiatives or any of the other activities we know other Admirals get mixed up in.
"Sir, we have reports of another rogue Admiral"
"What are they up to? Coup attempts? Aiding the enemy? Wishing to impose a dictatorship?"
"Um, no sir... he's refusing to leave the resort spa"
"...We'll just overlook this one"

I'm not sure that was better than either of the first two episodes but I still enjoyed it a lot

Fun episode.

We FINALLY see what a Gallamite looks like! After multiple mentions on DS9 of Captain Boday, we see the transparent skull! This is one of the reasons why the format of LOWER DECKS works so well... we get to have some of those difficult to impossible things to achieve show up here.

The Kreetasans make an appearance again... and they are just as douchy as they were on ENTERPRISE. Clearly, more than 200 years later, they are still insufferable.

The giant nanite shape... feels like an homage to what the Kelvans did to the crew in "BY ANY OTHER NAME".

It seems like alternate universes is the season-long thread.

Speaking of which, the miniature Intrepid class ship was a nice nod to Voyager being a Christmas ornament... not only from "DEATH WISH" but how Hallmark eventually made her into an ornament.

Boimler's story was the highlight here.

While it was fun to have Jennifer on again, the subplot of their lack of a true breakup was something that brought the episode down somewhat.

Overall, I give this a 7. Not as good as the previous two episodes, but still a worthy entry.

A fantastic, if a bit too fast in how it rushed past what could have been a slightly longer episode. This does confirm that this season will be focusing on Alternate Universes. If I did not already know this was going to be the last season for LD, I would have gone CRAZY for what this could mean for future seasons. Hopefully the novels of comics can pick up all the potential this season leans underdeveloped.

A decent episode overall, but also not the most memorable. But still was fun watching.

I also found the most unintentional yet great reference of them all:

"Non Stop Erotic Cabaret". Not sure why, that's word association for ya...

Speaking of word association, here's some random late-80s UK standup comedians hosting their own variety show:

I wonder if Krog was named after Korg from Marvel. They're both rock people
~ Yeah, I wondered about that too.

Mike McMahan and Brad Winters denied this, saying that Krog is not Brikar but a different rock-like species. Linky
~ I think Krog and his people look rather like the Rock Man from ST V: The Final Frontier's deleted scene. The shape of his mouth and jaw, the protuberances on the back of his head. those big eyebrows etc...
