Does that mean "The Witcher" takes place on an alien planet?

The fun thing about linguistic drift is that Guinevere is actually Jennifer and vice versa.

Trip may well be the most famous Starfleet engineer of the 22nd century. The guy did basically build with his own hands and maintain the first Warp 5 engine in the fleet during the 10 years it was in active service and his experiences with a warp drive in deep space no doubt filled engineering texts at Starfleet Academy for decades if not generations to come.

Jennifer might be just a human name, sort of like Hosato "George" Takei was given a Western name shortly after birth.

I'm pretty sure it is a human name.

BTW, am I the only one who felt that they did go with Barb and Mariner going on a date? Poor Boimler.

Voyager always had them unable to replicate something. Anyway there's a difference between Post-Scarcity no food or hunger versus Post-Scacity, no Catscan machine.

Honestly, this was the biggest fun I had with the show to a date. I was afraid it will be like that South Park episode where boys correctly guessed Chef is marrying succubus, but it was actually closed in a nice and creative way as was the moon plot. Also, finally, the contrast between Star Trek escapist extravaganza and Lower Decks everyday life of ensigns felt totally organic!

2 people? Implode the moon.. HA!
Sucked that they trashed the girlfreind.. Wish they ended it with them making plans to get together. The breakup was to cliche. I mean give brad a bone!

I've used "people our age" while talking to people ~10 years younger, and the look they gave me seemed to mean they're offended XD

Same here, I was considering cancelling mine after the disaster last week, but Mariner was not annoying this time and I loved the entire episode. Best so far!

He looks sexy no matter what he wears or doesn't wear

Maybe it never happened because they were successful, and no one ever knew who it was, cause they were erased from existence XD

That style I could see somebody mistaking for a sink. Individual, wall-mounted, porcelain jobs with pull-down flush handles...not so much.

Nice. The old Huron-type/Antares class from TAS, the first non-Constitution class starship we ever saw.

Well, this show continues to confound. Two bad episodes, two (mostly) good episodes and now this one, which was straight up the middle. Neither good, nor bad. Mildly amusing in spots, mildly annoying in others.

The part I actually enjoyed most was the C story with the moon. I like the idea of the captain being frustrated and condescended to by other captains, there should have been more of that, it should be a running bit in the show. But the other captain just disappears here for no reason. There should have been a rivalry in the LAST episode to establish why the Tellarite captain made the stupid mistake that he did.

Anyway....like I said, this episode was just average through and through.

The name-dropping of existing characters and events remains extremely annoying and unfunny.

The good news is, my free month on CBSAA is about to expire, so you'll all be deprived of my amazing insights going forward. That is, until I get another free coupon.

    LLAP, suckas.

Name dropping is fine depending on how it's used. Trip Tucker sprinkles works, O'Brien being the most important character in Starfleet history works, the episode where Mariner just named off a bunch of characters in a row didn't work.

That was Episode 1. I remember thinking "oh good, they're getting all the TNG references out of the way early."

    I was so young.
