That's an interesting way to read the scene. It's more like making fun of peoples accents or dialects. It's not a medical condition that's made fun of, it's just someone who learnt to say it differently.

Yeah, I never considered anyone's accent to be viewed as a speech impediment.
The only thing that comes close, in my experience, was the propensity for certain upper-class Brit accents to turn R's into W's and sound like Elmer Fudd. Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery had that affectation, which was accurately portrayed in the movie "Patton". I've heard others with that exact type of accent do the same thing.
Reminds me of Gilda Radner's SNL impersonation of "Barbara Wawa".

I didn't see it that way, though everyone has their own read on things. If it is ablest, I don't think it was intentional or done with malice.
^^^ I'm entirely sure that's how it was intended. Nobody says "sens-oars" other than Spock and Tuvok. 
When TOS came out, was there even a standardized pronunciation of the word sensor yet? I'm sure they existed within factories and engineers dealt with them, but they were not everyday parts of people's lives like today.
Also, I wonder if they were instructed to say it that way so the audience didn't think they were saying "censors indicate..."
They used "scanners" more than "sensors" early in the series.
To this day TOS fans make fun of the way Shatner pronounced a word or two...though I'm drawing a blank as to what they were off the top of my head. Anyone? (One of them is right on the tip of my brain.)

I've been bingeing TNG lately, and there have definitely been some "sense-oars" scattered in there that I wouldn't have thought twice about before this episode.

Yeah, probably. The producers said amongst themselves that normal vorta don't have that ability, so maybe she was "given it" just for the mission.
Frankly, they were making it up as they went.
Doesn't make much sense for the Dominion to use a Vorta as a spy since the Vorta are the literal face of the Dominion for the entire GQ. It wasn't at all a secret and the Dominion would have no way of knowing how much the UFP had learned of them at that point.

Haha. Forgot about that! Every single "fact" we learned about the Trill in "the host" (beyond just the basic concept) was overridden in DS9.

no. That weird, affected “oars” pronunciation has been a funny verbal tic in Star Trek for decades and this bit lampshades it. Calling this ableist is crying wolf.
