Star Trek episode most watched?

For me the time travel episodes were pretty entertaining and the sciences explored in the writing of those episodes. The main two-part Voyager episodes were easily gripping and ofcourse, anything featuring the Borg. Voyager took it to a whole new level for the franchise.

For example, separating a drone from the collective and restoring her humanity which had never been done in Trek. The use of transwarp drive, multi-adaptive shielding (an innovative idea) to withstand Borg attacks and buy more time. The use of nanoprobe technology which also proved to be efficient aswell as the main source for simulation. So many intriguing stories across its 7 year span :)

Oh yeah... Sorry it's been a while since i last watched TNG. Hugh (formerly Third of Five) was brought back to the Enterprise after being discovered in the wreckage of a Borg scout ship. Just like Seven, he felt his humanity return and wanted to become an individual.

I think Picard wanted to use him as a weapon to destroy the Borg or atleast inflict as much devastation possible.

To be fair though, Locutus was never assimilated for more a few days, and under Locutus there was a personality that had developed into maturity before being assimilated. Hugh was never separated from the collective consciousness for more than a few days, so both do lack the perspective of a long-term recovery of an individual with a stunted growth, which is what made the 7 of 9 story (somewhat) unique.

But it is interesting to note that after separation 7 of 9 seemed to display a lot of anger and frustration right from the start, whereas Hugh seemed to accept much more of it quietly. It would have been interesting to see if such 'crises' as 7 experienced would have come to Hugh sooner or later as well.

Voyager is the one show I can continually go back and continually watch. I still enjoy it today. Not as much as I used to but it would be the most watched show on my netflix for sure.

But, props to Voyager on having the top 10 most rewatched episodes. Since this series seems to be regarded by some (many?) as the black sheep of the ST family, then that's a very positive factoid.

It is regarded as a black sheep on this board. This board was started by a DS9 fan and continues to favor that show. The rest of the world is a different story. Voyager has always done better.

They're the episodes most rewatched straight after by lots of people aren't they? Which can be for a number of reasons. Anything from having really liked it, or got distracted and forget to hit pause. Or Voyager's case, "Is that really how it ended? Erm... it's okay. But surely I must've missed something." <rewatches> "No... no, I didn't. That's a bit disappointing."

I'm trying to work out if you're serious. You sound serious. But surely not?

Well, I'm a fan... on season 5 right now on my first watch and I can tell there is strong rewatch value, at least for me. I have read in other areas (external reviews, etc) some of the comments about it being the outlier in the ST universe. Incidentally, I've read that about DS9 as well, but that's interesting about this board.

I also like your avatar... despite my mouse, cats are by far my favorite animal. :)

Interesting. I've never read that but granted I rarely read comparisons of the shows. I only know that voyager did better viewer wise at the time and continues to.

And thanks. I've got a pure black cat with bright yellow eyes so I'm fond of the look.

I put it down to Voyager being entertaining. The idea of a 'family' of characters to journey along with is why you become invested in them and in part the end goal to get home gave the journey a clear focus right from the outset. Fresh Quadrant, a mix of old and new. But yeah, you said it. The word 'enjoy'. (Love the avatar as well).

Agreed with all of you, girls. This show is simply ... beautiful. I cannot say this about any other shows, Star Trek or not. It has a heart and a soul no other shows have ever had. And I seriously doubt if they are ever going to make something like this in the future, be it near or distant. The venue, the premise, the characters - all unique! There's so much love among them, such great interaction, such an exquisite sense of humour (Janeway excels at this) - it's pure delight. I've started watching it for the 37th time ... and I'm enjoying it just as much as on the first viewing if not more!

Also VOY outdoes any other shows in my book in terms of the opening sequence. That in itself is a gem.

All in all, VOY is fantastic! The only problem with it is that it lasted seven seasons instead of twenty-five. That sucks! :D

Having said that, when I feel like watching some other Trek show, it is always DS9 in my case. I find that of all the remaining other ST shows, this is still the most watchable. Watchable means in my book that it contains the second fewest boring episodes after VOY.
Although my second favourite show after VOY is StarGate SG-1. That one is not as good as VOY, esp. in terms of the family feeling, premise and a charismatic leader ... but it's still highly enjoyable with loveable characters and interesting stories.

Yes!! I just realised my post reads like I don't enjoy as much. I do. What I don't do is watch it as much. That is more about watching less TV than less voyager.

I didn't get into SG-1 when it aired but I've just started watching it. I'm in season 2 at the moment and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm so glad netflix makes it easy to go back to these shows and not rely on re-runs.

You know your enjoyment and love for Voyager is what makes your artwork so fresh. I watched Discovery a couple of nights ago and as much as I want to support it, it is missing the magic.

Just out of curiosity... when you rewatch the entire how long does it take you, on average? You might be hitting the record books soon... but since you're on #37 that's in line with the season 2 opener. Maybe something magical will happen when you hit that ep. ;)

Thanks, Refuge. Loving this show definitely helps, e.g. with coming up with ideas for my wallpapers. And like I mentioned somewhere else earlier, for me the actual process of making them is often more enjoyable than the wallpapers themselves (although I must admit I love them too). In this way, I can relive the episodes from my own point of view. You know ... it's not the destination ... it's the journey ... to quote from ENDGAME . So To The Journey then. (Btw, one of the recent ideas - atm in my head only - is a series of "To The Journey" wallpapers.)

And I've heard and read various different thoughts re Discovery. One thing is clear: I lost interest the moment I heard that this was some kind of prequel or reboot or whatever it is instead of giving us a good story that would have taken place, say, in the 25th century. The last bit of information we had about the Federation was how Voyager made it back to the Alpha Quadrant. I was more interested to know what happened next. If they had decided to set the show in the 25th century, that would have easily accounted for the much better technology as well. But no, instead we have the Klingons again ... My God, if something makes watching DS9 difficult for me then it's Worf and the whole stuff about Klingon rituals. I thought that DS9 was so good in Seasons 2 and 3 ... and then they screwed it with Worf and all the Klingons ... And now the new show is about the Klingons again ... (insert "suicide" emoji here ).

When will finally someone make a good Star Trek show where the main enemy is the Borg? With today's CGI that could become a fantastic series.

Also, I think most of us, VOY fans realize that it's not the enemies and not the CGI that make shows interesting. Give us a show with a heart and a soul, with plenty of humour and loveable characters - and then we won't have enough of it! :D:D:D

Wow, CM, what an observation! I'm actually nearing The 37's so I'm going to look out for something magical to happen. Perhaps I will get transported on their planet? It is after all, a big fav of mine. It seems like a pleasant enough environment, quite out of reach of the Borg and of all the other vicious aliens. The 37's seem to have a good time there.
Although, like I said, the real magic is already happening. Yesterday I watched PRIME FACTORS and STATE OF FLUX (both are really fantastic eps in my book) and I was glued to the screen, literally as if I didn't know what was going to happen. Now that ... is magic, I think. While watching STATE OF FLUX, I was already envisioning fantastic Seska wallpapers in my mind's eye too!
And to answer your question, the whole thing depends on my mood really. If I'm really depressed OR really thrilled for some reason, I usually watch an extra large portion of VOY. When the balance of my mind is not tipped by everyday events, I tend to watch a little less and give a chance to StarGate (or DS9). After all, SG is my second fav show and I'm only watching Jack O'Neill's adventures for the third time in my life! :D

Also, with my friends, we have VOY weekends and we watch like 10-12 eps in one go. We get together, say at noon on a Saturday and watch episodes until midnight. It's fun! And believe it or not, they are all friends who I have managed to turn into VOY fans. Now they can't seem to get enough of it! And if we get together at my place, I order them pizza and stuff like that. If one of the girls invites us, she usually cooks something as well. I really enjoy watching VOY on my own as well but these VOY marathons (they happen once in two months on average) are the real thing. And of course, we always watch episodes in order, never skip any and this helps with me reaching 37 viewings! :guffaw:If you feel like beaming over, you're welcome any time. However, we always watch the show in Hungarian ... so a bit of Hungarian classes is needed before the show. Whenever we start, we often say "Az ellenállás hasztalan", which is Hungarian for "Resistance is futile". :):):) And we don't want to resist. We just hear the opening sequence ... and whatever the episode, we are sure that a lot of fun is coming up soon.

Now how to pronounce that.. phonetically.. um.. "As L nay lass.. has ta lan" (I have no idea :alienblush:)

@Thomas Eugene Your monthly VOY marathons sound excellent! If I ever find myself in Budapest you'll be the first to know. You can always put the English subs on for me and I'll make something tasty for us to eat. And I'll bring my own beer... ;) you could always teach me Hungarian, but we would both be dead in the grave before I'd be proficient enough to even follow a commercial, let alone episodic dialogue... :p

Anyway, I hope you have some sort of transcendent experience while watching the series... by even the 10th time I think I would feel like I was out there in the DQ with the rest of the crew!

Try http://star-trek.reszek.info/star-trek/epizod-resz/star-trek-voyager-5x02-a-borg#
Press the button "Lejátszás" and the episode "DRONE" will start (after some advertisement I guess).
Seven says at 19:37 "Minden ellenállás hasztalan", which literally translates as "Every resistance is futile".

Thanks for your offer - it is always lovely when someone in the bunch makes some food ... :D
And as for the crew I've always felt like I am part of them. This is what makes it possible for me to relive their adventures so frequently. :)
