Star Trek Discovery - Why So Many Vocal Haters?

This woman is clearly off her meds and crazed, but does bring up a good point about the hate talk on Youtube;

I haven't watched her whole video, but does she realizes at any time that she is comparing videos from stupid Syfy Wire, a site which geoblockes their Star Trek interviews, with fan sites which very likely don't geoblock their videos? It is like comparing apples with oranges as the potential number of people being able to watch them is extremely different.

By the way those stupid sites shouldn't complain about low viewer numbers if they make it impossible for people outside of the USA to watch them. I never get why they do it with mere promotion material. The more people worldwide see them no matter the source, the better it should be for CBS, Space and Netflix.

And occasionally they seem to be right. For example, Lucas definitely listened to the "fans" aka haters after Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones was completely different (it fixed Phantom Menace's mistakes, but made whole new ones). I kind of wish the noisy haters had 0 influence on the creative product, but unfortunately they certainly have some.

I think that was more media and critical reaction than outright fan outrage though.

What possible purpose does this thread serve other than to provoke fights between fans and critics of the show? Like the 8000 other arguments on this subject across every thread weren't enough, it needed its own dedicated thread now in addition to all of those? Are we going to do an in-depth 60 Minutes investigation into "Haters and what motivates them"? No, it's just going to evolve into back and forth sniping (which it already has), equally ridiculous accusations of echo chambers by the extremes of both sides, and Professor Kane Steel's lecture series on "The Blacks in America" and how these "YouTube wimminz be crazy."

With the second season starting we're going to get enough clashing between fans and critics of the show as is without creating a Thunderdome thread solely about that. So sorry, but this is closed.
