News Star Trek: Discovery Set Photos

I prefer it that way. I want to be surprised. It is a series, not a movie with two hours. I want appreciate each episode. I know something about the plot, characters, ships. That's enough. A trailer is coming soon. The best thing to do is contain our excitement.
I'm actually really enjoying the anticipation!
I dove back into previous stuff again.
I've got Bridge Crew on Pre-Order.
It's fun!

I'm not up tight about being disappointed. I'll find something to enjoy in it, even if it isn't what I want it to be.
Whatever it ends up being, it can't be so far off of the feeling of Star Trek that it will be horrible.
We've already had the worst case scenario with the Kelvin Timeline :)

I don´t think Kelvin timeline is the worst case scenario. It is an alternate reality like Mirror Universe. In my opinion, It is fun but it shouldn´t be taken seriously.
About Discovery, I'm very confident based on what I've seen so far. The casting has been intriguing, the storyline sounds interesting. So, I am not concerned about delays. It took forever to get off the ground. It's better to take its time than rush.

Speak for yourself. After 21 seasons of 24th Century era Star Trek and only one descent TNG feature film ("ST:First Conteact" (IMO) the other 3 blew chuncks) - and 4 Seasons of my second favorite Star Trek series after TOS - (yes, I liked "Enterprise") - JJ Abrams version of Star Trek was the shot in the arm the franchise needed to get away from Boardroom Trek (IE the TNG paradigm of talking around a table for most of the episode to come up with a solution/Particle of the Week to 'fix'/end the episode.) ;)

I'm very happy that by all indications, Discovery will be closer to TOS in tone; and I look forward to giving the series a look; and hope it will be closer to the show I first started watching as a 6 year old kid in 1969. (YMMV of course.) ;)

What does that even mean? Why should it be taken less seriously that any other iteration of Star Trek and why should others be taken more seriously?

Well looks like they are progressing. Chris Obi posted on Twitter that he's wrapped for a while. Don't know if it's for the season or if he'll be back later......sounded like he was done. Maybe photography is going well.

Was that the tweet he reposted from a couple of weeks back? I got the impression that he'd be back. But that may just be wishful thinking as he's just ridiculously energetic in tweets and I'm eager to see his actual screen time!

^ This one? Posted yesterday, but the vid was April 4th. Which I was surprised by - I'm guessing by the casting announcements the Klingons are in the first three episodes to kick off and I got the impression they'd be back to close it all off.

Adding the link to make sure I've not missed something - I've got most of the Disco crew on a list (here if anyone wants to follow it!) so I don't miss anything but I'm not online as much as I'd like to be!

I actually dropped by Pinewood studios the other day.
One of the hangar doors was open, and I saw the back side of the set.
(Just wooden construction bits and scaffolding.)
There was also a tent filled with a bunch of set parts that looked like quarter pipes, and some green screen panels.

I don't have access to a telephoto lens, might have to rent one.

I'm inclined to think that we won't see anything really substantial--like the cast in costume & makeup or the finished sets--until the premiere date is finally locked down.

Until then, we'll just have to settle for lots of green screens, plywood, and electrical cables...

Wew lad. That's pretty extreme. Not the most extreme (that would be Persona 5) but pretty extreme.

Not really. Apparently Christopher Nolan, during the making of the Dark Knight Trilogy, not only didn't provide the cast with a script prior to filming but he would only provide the parts of the script to the relevant cast on a day-by-day basis based upon what was being shot on the day. Additionally, all scripts were watermarked with a cast member's name.

Also, I think when Doctor Who started filming back in 2005, Russell T Davies went as far as naming the set to Torchwood - a grammatical jumble of the name Doctor Who and, of course, the name of one of its spin-offs.
