So do they cut that whole scene with Adria explaining that they prefer they/them, or is it dubbed with an unrelated conversation?
Mr. Spock (2) would disagree. He would not go through the halls weeping to keep up crew morale.

Mr. Spock was the executive officer and acting captain at the time. The two are not comparable.

The DMA is under someone's control, b/c of course it is. But whose? Enjoyed the callbacks to far older hyper-advanced civilizations, Stamets going mano-a-mano with an equivalent genius (who surely has his own backstory going), *finally* some Jett Reno, an amazing and emotionally-powerful excursion with Burnham and Book, Saru being his wonderful damned self, and just... all of it. I don't understand how anyone is bitter about this show, I just don't. This is an amazingly well-constructed and well-calibrated Trek for the modern world.
Good episode, makes a change not to have the prisoners try to hijack the rescuers.
I did miss the bridge crew but read yesterday, they were rotating the cast to protect from covid.

That's pretty damn horrifying the way they've totally perverted Adira's fundamental identity. I'm surprised Paramount is letting Netflix Italy get away with totally undermining the point of their character.
In ST09, Spock is Acting Captain, a Starfleet officer, and a member of a Vulcan culture that suppresses emotion.
Book is none of these things. He's not "compromised" just because he has feelings.
Yeah, Paramount is in it to make money. Being proponents of social justice is a distant second if not lower.
Fair point. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised -- even if the guys making ST are sincere in their advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights, that doesn't mean they can override corporate-level decisions.
In Italian, is there a preferred pronoun for non-binary people at all? Because it's a strange decision since even in Polish, for example, the scene about pronouns was simply translated literally into the plural. It sounds nonsensical, confusing and artificial but in this particular language it was simply the best of the worst choices[1].

Unless Book is placed at the controls of Discovery itself or a Starfleet shuttle I can't imagine Burnham and Culber have any authority under Starfleet regulations or Federation law to force a non-member of Starfleet and private citizen to stay put and not pilot their own ship, a ship that's their own private property.
Just like in TNG when Picard would refer to Data as “Commander Data,” Rhys is referred to as Commander, but his rank is Lieutenant Commander. He and the rest of bridge crew regulars (Detmer, Owosekun, Bryce and Nilsson) were promoted to Lieutenant Commander between seasons 3 and 4/by the last scene of season 3.
The rank pips are small, and hard to make out on the Tricom badges, but their ranks are also included in the end credits.

very good question, the answer is no. Non-binary people basically “do not exist” in the public awareness, in fact even being homosexual is just starting to become a somewhat accepted sexual orientation, other sexual orientations or the idea of having a different sexual identity than “the norm” is pretty much considered beyond the comprehensible by most. Givi it time and things will change, of course.
Also, the issue of non-binary people is further issued by the language: in English its just using “they” when talking about them and conjugate the verbs appropriately, in German they have a real (even if really messed up) neutral pronoun, in Italian *everything* is either male or female, including objects (in a totally arbitrary way), and everything is declined. If in English you say “I’ve been to the market” in Italian it’s “sono stato al mercato”, whose literal translation would be “I, male, have been to the market, male” (yes, the market is male...it just is!).
