Season 4 is here, Michael Burnham is finally captain and the crew of the Discovery will face a new kind of threat which has been described as a force of nature rather than your typical villain. They've also got new uniforms. Futuristic Mountie uniforms. The red ones anyway. Personally, I miss the old uniforms, the gray ones from season 3. Keeping those would have better distinguished this show from the upcoming Strange New Worlds.

"After months spent reconnecting the Federation with distant worlds, Captain Michael Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery are sent to assist a damaged space station – a seemingly routine mission that reveals the existence of a terrifying new threat." - TrekCore

IIRC they said they changed the uniforms because they blended in too much with the sets.

‪‪I think you’re 100% right. I can’t remember if they said that was the reason for the change outright, but right before we saw the new costumes debut in the Season 4 teaser on this year’s First Contact Day they interviewed the head costume designer Gersha Phillips who said that the 32nd Century Starfleet uniforms turned out really well, but then specified that they looked good at Federation HQ, and not on the Discovery, for the reason you mentioned, because the grey matched the Discovery set’s wall too closely.

So stupid question, are we expecting this to actually come out at midnight (or so) or do the do it during the primetime period of its release day (I honestly can't remember)?

2:07 AM Eastern is when it usually drops.

I really shouldn't be watching it at that hour, but I'll deal with how tired I'll be the "next" day. Coffee and energy drinks.

Sorry about that, as in general the worst I had to deal with was waiting for a few British imports to air in the US, but none of them did I love like Trek.

How long did people have to wait back in the 80's and 90's for Trek to be broadcast overseas, I know at various parts it was a while. That really had to suck, but the big difference is today its far, far more common to see maybe not a day on day release, but at least a fairly close one with film and tv.

The show is in it's fourth season. No new fans are coming.
happened for the 3rd season premiere event (you know, so people can actually try to attend...)

from another thread:
Not gonna lie. This preview clip made me get a little moisture in my eyes. :adore:

They aired the first AND second episodes at the virtual premiere. There are going to be spoilers everywhere even after tomorrow.

I had no idea they aired the second. I tuned out after the first one. What a fool I am!
